Topic: Largest structure in the observable Universe discovered!

Pink !tMZAN/iuUU started this discussion 8 years ago #74,657

It is a merger of over 14 galaxies which produce stars at a much greater rate than other galaxies.

The structure is 12.4 billion light years away from our solar system.

Astronomers and astrophysicists are confused as to how such a large structure could have formed at such an early point in time.

You sure did NOT read that very carefully did you.

"Say it is more active than any other section of the universe they have ever observed."

They are looking at one section of the universe and probability is such that other even more bigger mergers will be discovered.

"Astronomers and astrophysicists are confused"

Well larde dar dar - When they become less confused they will discover even more wonderful events taking place out there.

In the OBSERVABLE Universe, dummy. It is still strange that such a large structure could have formed over 12 billion years ago, is it not?

Considering the Universe is 13.8 billion years years old -NO

The James Webb Space Telescope which will replace Hubble and plan launch is 2020 will find lots more to be found

How did it happen so fast then? If actual astrophysicists are confused I doubt you have all the answers.

You might ask how did the big bang look and how fast did it happen.

As if anyone does
