I had to look this one up - Cost me $4.99 in 1959/1960 and was slow going to compute Boolean logic but you could input multiple ones n zeros and do And n Or gates and get the One output solution - 3 Bits which in 2days standards is not so much - Rubber bands and plastic disks - I had one even more simple that could do lots more and it was made out of cardboard but so far have not located it - Cost more and did lots more but was a giant pain in ass to wind the wires on the disks to compute a new solution - Could take one hour or more to for example convert 1234 to ones n zero equiv 10011010010

That's $42 when adjusted for inflation. And Labo isn't just cardboard and rubberbands, it has a Switch cartridge.

Got a chance to play with one a few months ago. Flimsily made cardboard - That said the sensors included are really cool for what they can do. I wood be impressed with it if made somewhat more sturdy but got to say the intention is truly great for kids

I'm sure it's as sturdy as they could make it while still capable of being easily folded.

I bet they appreciate the toy more since they actually made it themselves and won't trash it immediately.

> paying $80 for a box of cardboard
I have a sweet deal worked out with a local business. I get a free cardboard box with each pizza I order.
