All in all it really depends on the skill of the artist/manchild with crude writing implements. On the lower end on of the spectrum, poorly posed and rendered poser stills can be almost as bad as bad drawing. On the upper end, both can be good in the proper contexts. 2D drawings, however, can have a certain subtlety to them if they are executed properly. For example, the slight outline of a woman is generally more appealing than a lot of game box art (I don't really seek out 3D or 2D art outside of texture hunting), though the highest degree of professionalism can be found in both.
