Yes! It could have been much worse! I could just see him using Holocaust Remembrance Day to go off on a tangent about how Jews were always welcome at Mar-A-Lago even back when WASP country clubs didn't admit Jews. Which is true but kind of, like, misses the point of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

It was clearly written by a staffer. Most tweets for most members of Congress (I'd say essentially all of them) are written by staffers. Drafted by an intern, then kicked up the press chain of command. WH is probably the same under normal circumstances (obvs Trump isn't normal).

IIRC, Trump has said in the past that he often dictates tweets to his aides, who then run them by him and submit them with his approval. Not all of them, tho, and his late-night rants are his own.
There's a Twitter bot that tries to figure out the likelihood of Trump having personally authored each tweet, based on when the tweet was posted, if it was posted using Android or via iPhone, certain keywords used in the tweet, amongst other things.
