A bunch. Lots - Many - NONE not one was powered by steam. Back in my teen years. Put up mouse which parachuted back and appeared to enjoy that experience.
Piloted? Well sure I lit the fuse and was way back just in case it exploded which several did.
Now IF and only if you are so daft to think I wood consider building one to take a ride on? Never ever not once did it occur2me

What I did not do is strap myself on2 my rockets. Much fun and learned a lot about chemistry.
I built the Rockets and piloted them by remote control. Never made one large enough to take more that a mouse UP.
