hammer, bolt cutters, or angle grinder
i lost the keys to my bike lock and the snow is melting
...also there's an abandoned bike on the balcony in front of our front door that's better than mine

Are you asking for help to get your own bike unlocked or for help stealing your neighbor's bike?

IF You are close to a gym? All gyms have bolt cutters for locks on lockers. Also you can rent a bolt cutter. Forget trying a hammer.

Abandoned bikes need love. Also that means it's litter. Please clean up that litter and remove it.

there are two other apartments sharing this balcony (front doors are on the second storey)
I asked both tenants and they don't know whose it is

Bolt cutters work great, but you might need something larger than a 90-pound triptych to apply the necessary force. An angle grinder should work with minimal effort if you have a cordless or can get an extension cord out to where you need it.

This is to get your own bike unlocked:
Get a new can of Dust-off Hold it upside down and spray it on a single spot on the u-lock. Then hit the lock with a sledgehammer until it breaks.

two roommates are bigger and stronger than me and wouldnt mind helping I'm sure!
might try first hammer then bolt cutter then angle grinder seeing as the angle grinder will be the most difficult to find

A hammer will just smash the works and jam the lock. A hammer really is a waste of time. Anon B's idea of freezing does work on those car steering wheel locks so maybe that will work on your lock.
Locate a bolt cutter. Also it never hurts to ask a local cop. Supervisors often have them in the trunk of their cars.

I recall helping a roommate get his bike off a rail after his lock rusted over the winter. He took the same approach and mangled the fuck out of the lock with a hammer, but never managed to open it. If it's a really crappy lock, you might be able to knock it open. Some work with a hacksaw might make it easier depending on the quality of the lock. Probably bank on a good set of bolt cutters being the cleaner solution that involves fewer bruises and cuts.

If you get another bike lock key, make a bump key from it and you will have unlimited bikes

Actually you might look into the talents of those you buy drugs from. They may have friends-clients that can help you.

You will have given a poor crackhead a bike! Isn't that what communism is all about?

I would would just grab both sides of the lock...apply continuous and increasing pressure until it snapped in half...probably be some loud grunting involved..
