By the very nature of the word “amendment”, we know that the Founding Fathers (FF) acknowledged that the Constitution would and could be amended (changed) to suit the times and the context of the People. The Second Amendment was written to guarantee the rights of citizens, who at that time formed a well-regulated militia, and in the absence of a standing, national or state army, to own and use (bear means to use, not just to own) firearms. That amendment, however, was intended to give that right to white males, many of whom owned slaves, in a time when the majority of the US population consisted of famers living rurally, with a very sparse population. Even in cities, the populations were very small compared to what we know now. It is time to amend the amendment to reflect modern reality.

Furthermore, guns were, at that time, the height of military technology. A rifle will not stop a rogue government armed with drones and missiles from eliminating dissidents. It will, however, very effectively stop private citizens lives at the whim of some mentally ill fucktard.
