I am not saying it is bad or wrong, just distinctly American. I am referring to the tradition of glorifying one’s high school years, and still being very involved in that high school, like going to Homecoming, going to all the football games, volunteering for all the events, giving money, joiining the Board of Trustees, etc., even after decades of graduating and not having any kids going there. Isn’t it a bit strange? Most people in the world might look back at high school a little fondly or whatever, but the continued glorifying of high school throughout life seems a little, I don’t know, childish or innocent?
