The ski lodge last night. A bunch of kids and their parents running up the base of the mountain and sledding down.
Fucked up my knee, pulled a muscle in my ass and hurt my wrist. Fucking awesome damn trip. The new backside of the mountain is amazing, best scenery of the trip.

it was fun, but i'm home now. none the worse for wear. i jacked up one of my knees on some moguls the other morning and by the end of the day it was pretty sore. didn't tear anything i don't think, but it was pretty stiff the next day and it took a while to get it worked out on the mountain. it's already getting better. not sure when i pulled the muscle in my ass, it still hurts though and i think i pulled it more today.
did some cross country and i think that's what did my wrist in, we were using rented equipment and i think i just needed some longer poles. and better physical fitness.
> Can't imagine wanting to be around snow right now tho I'm so sick of cold
it was pretty bitter while we were there and it snowed half the time. something like half a foot on the second night then several inches the next day. the skiing was excellent, there was a ton of powder everywhere and since visibility was almost a whiteout there weren't a lot of people skiing those days. but it was intermittent and most of the day was just partly cloudy and mostly sunny. although it was pretty awesome to watch it go from whiteout conditions to clear visibility, because i'd look around and think, "the peak should be visible from this run and be somewhere over there," and to then see the weather pass and the peak is enormous and takes up half of what you can see but but moments ago it was like,
over there somewhere.
we got pretty lucky with the weather, we had the best ski conditions i've seen at springtime probably ever and then the roads were totally clear from snow and dry when it came time to head through the treacherous mountain pass that led to the resorts.
outstanding trip this year. may not be back at crested butte for a couple of years, this next winter i'm making a push for Whistler or maybe Vail since i've never been there. but i really want to go to Whistler.
