The idea of Reylo just leaves a bad taste in their mouths since they don't like the idea that your strong female character who don't need no man could actually fall in love with a fallen soul. It's like they cannot appreciate stories like Beauty and the Beast because it's Stockholm syndrome to them. If anything, there's a load of evidence that suggests the writers are pushing for the shipping of Rey and Kylo Ren / Ben Solo even in the novelizations of the films. Yet they just cannot handle that.
