There has been one thing I noticed in my lifetime and that whenever someone says that traditional family values are dead they are speaking in falsehood. While it may appear as if family values are gone in the more nuclear heterosexual family, they are flourishing among families with parents of the same-sex. My idea is that the reason for this is because same-sex couples want families, they want to raise children, and they have a lot to prove to a society that believes same-sex parents are a detriment to the children. This makes them hard worker as a parent and makes them more concerned about their children's future. Meanwhile, heterosexual couples fall victim to divorce and domestic violence. And if that couple also happened to be obese, then childhood neglect may play a factor, especially at buffets. Same-sex couples are succeeding at child raising whereas straight-couples are failing due to their own poor decisions.

Domestic violence is under reported in same sex couples. It stems from trying to gain marriage equality rights and the desperate need to portray same sex couples as loving and caring.

Probably a big factor is that a same sex couple has to really want kids. Adam and Steve aren't going to get knocked up accidentally - the have to either find a surrogate or go through adoption both of which take a lot of time and effort.
