My endocrinologist only accepts my insurance if my primary care physician provides a referral. It’s also annoying as fuck whenever I have to keep calling them because one side said that they sent it and the other said they didn’t. This whole thing I jokingly refer to as The Referral Games because it makes me feel like Katniss Everdeen. I reached a block to where I didn’t know what to do so I called the clinic. Of course, right after I made an appointment, my referral got through and that is why I have another appointment next week.

I suppose you can stop seeing them if you wanted to or if they suggest it. But for me right now, I have a follow up visit next week and now I have an additional resource to go to should I need it. This LGBT Center is literally something I wanted to start someday. I just discovered that they also have workshops for trans people that can help with dressing to fit one's body type, makeup, hair, a career center, etc. It seems like the only thing missing from this being a one stop shop of information and services are religious ones and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have a chapel on site too.
