In this version, the enchantress catches the King's son after Rapzunel spilled the beans. The enchantress sent her to the desert to live in misery. Something brutal happened to the prince as he fell from the tower after the enchantress said he will spend his days searching for his beloved. His eyes were pierced and he spent days in the forest just barely surviving off of berries and twigs. I think this was where the Grimm's edited it for a happier ending as he runs into her in the desert and gains his sight back. Rapzunel had twin children, a boy and a girl. They lived happy and contented.
