But not the Fallon Fox kind of trans! Mack was born biologically female and is transitioning to male. Even weirder he actually wanted to compete in the mens wrestling but wasn't allowed to.
Although Beggs, whose given name is Mackenzie, has stated a preference for competing in the boys’ division, the UIL requires athletes to compete against the gender that is listed on their birth certificate. Beggs has gone 36-0 this year, wrestling in the 110-pound class.
They probably put that in to stop transwomen from competing in girls wrestling but it seems to have had some unintended consequences!
