No. Publishers will not take you directly. You need to first find a literary agent. You have to write a really good query letter, and find the right agent in "Writers' Market 2012" which you can buy anywhere. Aents get hundreds of letters per day, so you really have to make it jump out at them. Most published authors sent thousands of query letters before getting an agent to take them.
