Topic: Bitcoin exchange accidentally allows customers to buy coins for $0
Anonymous A started this discussion 8 years ago#72,298
A system glitch at cryptocurrency exchange site Zaif, enabled users to obtain digital money for free, with one apparently "purchasing" Bitcoin valued at
$20,000,000,000,000
The glitch, which lasted for 18 minutes from 5:40 p.m. to 5:58 p.m. on Feb. 16, affected Zaif’s price calculation system, enabling customers to buy cryptocurrencies for nothing.

okay but the OP said that ONE USER got away with 20 trillion worth for free.
Untrue. Fake news. FUD.

20 Trillion was purchased for $0.
The buyer should have purchased a more reasonable number. Attempting to sell 20 Trillion set off flags.
The buyer will always be able to make the claim they bought 20 Trillion was purchased for $0.

You're telling me only one person took advantage of free bitcoin?
20 Trillion was EVERYONE buying at $0. Not one guy.

I posted several links ...Considering reading please.
One person bought 20 Trillion. Others purchased more reasonable amounts. Zaif says " it was still trying to resolve the issue with one customer who tried to transfer the knock-down bitcoins from the exchange, a spokesman told Reuters."
Perhaps you are not aware of "last month’s theft of $530 million in digital money from Coincheck Inc"
One of the many thefts of Bitcoins and none resolved.

Well that's what you get for trusting a third party exchange with your money.
Anyway that guy is a retard, he won't get away with that.
