Topic: The fact that there existed black slave owners greatly intrigues me.

> William Ellison Jr., born April Ellison, (c. April 1790 – December 5, 1861) was a cotton gin maker and blacksmith in South Carolina, a Mulatto and former slave who achieved considerable success in business before the American Civil War. He eventually became a major planter and one of the medium property owners, and the wealthiest black property owner in the state. He held 40 slaves at his death and more than 1,000 acres (400 ha) of land. From 1830-1865 he and his sons were the only free blacks in Sumter County, South Carolina to own slaves. The county was largely devoted to cotton plantations and the majority population was slaves.
> Ellison and his sons were among a number of successful free people of color in the antebellum years, but Ellison was particularly outstanding. His master (and likely father) had passed on social capital by apprenticing him to learn a valuable artisan trade as a cotton gin maker, at which Ellison made a success. He took a wife at the age of 21. After buying his own freedom when he was 26, a few years later Ellison purchased his wife and their children, to protect them from sales as slaves. The Act of 1820 made it more difficult for slaveholders to make personal manumissions, but Ellison gained freedom for his sons and a quasi-freedom for his surviving daughter. During the American Civil War, Ellison and his sons supported the Confederate States of America and gave the government substantial donations and aid. A grandson fought informally with the regular Confederate Army and survived the war.
I thought the origin of slavery traces back to the people of the Slavic regions thus the "Slav" in the word "Slave" and "Slavery".

Mr. Ellison purchased his freedom because his master, from what I gathered, took him on as an apprentice and left him a large inheritance.

That is where our word comes from, but the practice of slavery is much older and happened all over the world since at least the earliest written histories. Look further back in history than the modern world and it's probably pretty hard to find a major civilization that didn't practice slavery.

Does it date back to the Egyptians or Mesopotamia?

The practice doesn't really have a single origin. But, yes, cultures in both of those regions talk of capturing slaves. Whether it was slaves taken during wars against neighboring cities or on raids into the surrounding lands, slavery existed in both those places.

We're some evolved life-form that's for sure. I have to wonder if the other great apes such as chimpanzees utilize slavery. I know they form mobs and go to war with each other. That documentary fucked me up mentally since they are very similar to humans. Now it seems like they only need religion and slavery to full become us.

You've pretty much summed up the original Planet of the Apes movies.

Learn to read, he answered that question on the post you cited.
It dates back to BEFORE THE WRITTEN RECORD. As soon as people could start writing shit down they were writing about slavery.
If you ever crack open a bible, theres lots of stuff in there that would likely turn you on, given your fetishes.

I was listing things that we don't know about chimpanzees. I already know they can be savage much like we are.
Hypothesis: The more intelligent the species the more crueler they become and in need of a morality system to keep them in check.

They're really dated, but they're definitely classic sci-fi. They use a sci-fi scenario to explore issues like humanity, slavery, war, fanaticism, religion, government, etc. It's really an exploration of those issues in the abstract where you can look at fictional society's problems and reflect on how those issues impacted your own society and history. TOS Star Trek was trying to do pretty much the same kind of thing at the time but in TV series sized chunks.
The first movie is totally worth it just to watch a young Charlton Heston ride around and be obsessed with guns.

Movies 2 & 3 are pretty rough but give you the narrative to go forward. The fourth movie is worth watching if you are interested in the series' exploration of slavery.
