If I had to guess it's the combination of Jesus being a Jew but yet superseding the Jewish religion. He abstracted it to a higher level, expanding it to all of humanity and not just those born of a mother whom happened to be born in a certain part of the middle east at a certain time. In this, he was the ultimate traitor to Judaism. Basically the Jewish members-only club went from being exclusive to open to literally anyone who professed that Jesus is lord.

Bisexual, homosexual: Jesus could have been any of these. There can be no certainty which. The homosexual option simply seems the most likely. The intimate relationship with the beloved disciple points in that direction. It would be so interpreted in any person today.
