Makes more sense than imperial. Units of 10 are easier to remember. 10mm to a 1cm. 100cm to a metre. I can't tell you how many yards in a mile or pints in a gallon.

I'm not trying to be gross...but it's what came to mind...when you have a period the...are you not bloody because the chick who lives next door has to use three times as many dirty socks to keep her jeans from becoming soiled as you do..
