With those, if the blades get dull, the grass will not cut, and stops the blade from turning. Electric and gas mowers will keep spinning.

yeah that makes sense
it fits with my experience of dull and sharp trowels and shovels and hoes
which tbf are all hand-powered tools
it's been probably a decade since i mowed a lawn, don't remember how gas+electric mowers worked
