Are you looking for short term or long term gains?
What level of gain do want?
And with the market doing so well its really really hard to buy low

Long term or short term. On my account application I put long term.
Any amount of gain is fine.
I went ahead and funded the account with 1k.

Short term gains take a huge amount of time investment. I only invest in things I understand. So most of my short terms are in technology
Another here on MC is much stronger on Advanced Micro Devices than I am - But this is a real good example of what I look for - Even in the best of times because they are up against Intel and Nvidia AND many other Semi houses - AMD stock tends to be volatile which is the only way I can make short term money.
That means following the tech market news and keeping a super close eye on exactly what news drives AMD down - Just about any real bad news does this to AMD
I AM NOT Suggesting you invest in AMD - Pick a market area that you can relate to and study study study that area -

Why are you getting your financial investment advice from a crazy old man on an obscure chan?

Google is really pricey - I myself wood wait for the next market crash b4 I wood buy again - I do have a lot in Google but did not buy any last year.
One hell of a company for long term gains but only when one can buy on the downside. Someone with a memory will point out much that I do have in Google I did not pay for (except in tax's)

Also bitcoin. Why buy ownership in companies that produce goods and services at a profit when you can buy pointless math problems?

I am NOT SMART enough to 4Cast bitcoin. Not only is it volatile as far as I C it if I were to decide on a buy that buy price is going to change over the hours the buy is placed. Warren Buffett does not think much of bitcoin.
