No, pro bono work is not required in my state. I do a ton of pro bono but generally for people who are unable to pay and have a very worthy cause.

Your state has bizarre laws that no one out of state would touch. Or is it a federal matter?

No. It caused demonstrable damage to a person, and left that person not only damaged psychologically, but also financially. It also included racial bias and sexual harassment. It is not horseshit. Real people are really hurt.

A person worked for a local politician. That politician sexually harassed this person daily. This person always tried to simply ignore the harassment. The politician’s wife learned about it, and then harassed this person and intimidated this person into quitting.

Actually, there are laws regarding harassment on the workplace, and a business has a legal obligation to provide a safe working environment.

As a side note, that's a contingency case, not pro bono. If no one is willing to take the case on contingency, the potential plaintiff should NOT pay an attorney hourly as that means there's likely not much there.
