It's a knock-off of the game "Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy".
Getting Over It is a game where you play as a character holding a hammer, and you use the mouse to control the hammer. Only with these controls, you have to use the hammer to hoist yourself up and over obstacles to climb a mountain. It recently got popular on YouTube as a rage game, because it's easy to make a mistake and fall all the way back to the beginning.
Climby Hammer is a knock-off for iOS made to capitalize on the game's success. Unlike most knock-off games, this one actually adds a lot of stuff. The main thing is that, instead of one large level, there are endless levels created by other players. It's basically Getting Over It mixed with Happy Wheels.

Joining a clan doesn't mean ou play differently. It just means you might get daily/weekly rewards for the clan getting a bunch of trophies, which you get by completing levels.
