"What is 'real'? If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain."

Our reactions to these electrical signals are termed 'impressions' by the stoics. How we react to an impression is always a choice which we are able to decide.

A stoic will always favour that which follows the rules of Logic and Reason, and will avoid emotional reactions. This is the only way to overcome base animal instinct and act like a Human ought.

Martin Gardner says that realism is just way more convenient, healthy, and it works.
