Of course there are multiple places that provide quality oil as well as rice as well as other edible products.
China's large cities cannot even keep the air breathable so one can dine in pleasure with the possibility the food will not be foul.
Other civilized countries have eliminated TB years ago. For some reason China does not seem to give a shit but for other reasons shit ends up in food because well just because.

So looking back on that have you found more better people to hang with?
