It only holds us back. We don't have to be afraid of the Soviets anymore. They failed. Most communist countries nowadays are either poor third world countries or slowly embracing capitalism. Capitalism is still the winner and yet this fear and hatred of communism remains. There is a difference between communism and socialism. Even capitalist countries are away of this which is why they incorporated socialist elements into their societies. This hatred of communism only holds us back and prevents us from improving what we already have. Capitalism, in its current state, is also heading for complete failure which could be seen as the communism of the 21st century. Unless we figured out ways to improve this system or construct a better one. We're going to be without communistic ideals or capitalistic ones. Either this will be a positive thing for society or it would lead to mass confusion and decay society back to a more primitive system before either the two aforementioned ones. It's time for the hatred of communism to end.
