I think most engineers, as well as mathematicians and physicists, call that a sinc function. Specifically, a normalized and unnormalized sinc function (the difference being that a normalized sinc function has an integral always equal to one because it is scaled by pi.)
I don't see a strong enough pattern in the poll to say that there is a correlation between the ages of minichan's users and a sinc function.
