Congress is trying to reverse the FCC decision. They have 60 days to reverse it before the changes go into effect.

Call your fucking congressperson!

@OPenis
Making peace with authority is an important part of becoming an adult.

They are supposed to represent me, not own me. Thanks.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! Thanks.

at least the republicans will fully own this and the eventual fallout. at least history will be able to look back and see the great state of things just prior to 2017 and the subsequent dark age that follows. it'll be pretty obvious, hopefully, what kind of mentality and broken bureaucracy led to this.

we're pretty fucked though. this shit is gonna stick. i'm kinda torn though, i seriously believe that we are now worse off, and that things cannot possibly improve under this new system -it will be a stacked deck. so i either hope it's not that bad or i hope it's absolutely fucking awful for everyone. i kinda hope it's just awful, so people can maybe finally see something important to them ruined by greed and corruption so obviously they can't ignore it. cause if it's not that bad and things are only a little worse off for people then i guess we'll just learn to live with it and accept data caps and throttled speeds on non-premium sites.

personal opinion, the era of not having a cable package are about to be over. again. people like me who consume all of their media on the web will probably be forced to buy a cable package for regular television watching because it'll cost way less than data packages that'll cover more than a few movies. imo this entire thing is about stopping the "cable cutting" and returning to an era when the only way to consume media is through a cable box. all of it, from ISP not upgrading infrastructure to the constant attacks on net neutrality, it's all to keep that cable box jammed down everyone's throat.
