I set my mom up with a Chromebook years ago. Best decision I ever made. It's easy for her to watch Hulu shows and Facebook. My favorite part is there's no real maintenance. It just works. No "Adobe Acrobat needs to be updated!" or similar popups (these scare her and I have to reassure her its not a virus).
