you are such a sucker, this is totally a world of warcraft character backstory thread.
now, this isn't cannon yet since the expansion isn't over and things could change, but it appears the my rogue has in fact regained her eye sight. i've been wondering how that would make any sense since i decided she was blinded by the Lich King, but again the game delivers a convoluted and complex enough plot that it seems anything is possible by mere coincidence.
it turns out that after killing Kil'jaden, the leader of the Burning Legion's military forces, the combined alliance/horde forces have to turn their attention to the new planet in the Sky, Argus, which has the last raid of the expansion and the final boss, a very powerful corrupted Titan. This is Kil'jaden's secret weapon, and one that needs to be dealt with.
during this cinematic Illidan Stormrage (a half-demon elf dude) was captured by Xe'ra (an incomprehensible alien being made from hard light and prophecies) who tried to un-corrupt his half-demon body and purify it with light and this would in fact cure his blindness and restore his eyes and cure him of his addiction to emo angst and fel magic. but, of course illidan refused the magic and lashed out destroying xe'ra in a huge explosion of arcane energy, pure light and My Chemical Romance.
illidan was not cured of anything, but coincidentally my rogue was wearing the original blindfold she took off of illidan's dead body when he was killed in the Black Temple. the blindfold was tainted by the fel magical eyes given to illidan by his Dark Master, Sargaras, and residual magic imbued into the cloth is what allowed her to "see" with almost the same clarity as her human eyes. some kind of interaction between the blindfold, her injured eyes, and an exploding Naaru has apparently cured her vision instead.
i mean if i can absolutely pin it to an in-game event where she's present, then it's gotta end up cannon.
kinda hit a content gate, though. at present the only things really left to do involve grinding. the newest raid unlocked the other day but it won't be available for solo-queue in its entirety until like mid january. i can continue to grind for reputation, or i can grind for gear so i can better grind for reputation and gear. or i can just do gladiator pvp and try and get a decent rating this season.
i kinda like their new pvp system, i don't really need a full set of pvp armor, but a lot of pvp skills are locked behind a point based progression system. it's not hard to gain level and unlock talents, pvp is generally made to be super accessible, but my rogue is definitely playing catch-up.

yeah, and check out these bad ass daggers. you want to talk about artifacts, Trip, these are fucking relics. the there was the Lich King's dagger, called Heaven's Fall, Kris of a Thousand Lies, and it's a peach. take that to your archaeology club if you want to impress your buddies.

and this offhand was the perfect best-in-slot compliment to Heaven's fall. Called Lungbreaker, not getting this particular dagger was a real hard pill to swallow back in the day. it dropped from, tbh, one of the easier fights in Icecrown. but, my guild's main healer was really just the GM's girlfriend, and she was terrible, and this fight was really more for healers than anyone. so week after week we skipped it, hoping to over gear her enough she'd be able to do it, but her computer was so slow and framerate so bad she could barely raid anyway. we had, idk, something like 24 attempts on icecrown when it was new and this was a really, really important BiS upgrade for rogues and really the only one that was attainable early on. people in pick-up-groups were getting the healing fight down and every week i didn't even get a chance to try it.
eventually i got a dagger from a different, more difficult fight, but never got a chance to go back for the BiS offhand before the guild disbanded.

pictured: White Silver Covenant Hippogryph. everything is from Northrend, the legacy Gladiator armor, the legendary weapons, reputation mount. her belt is new, and the cape i guess is too.
but the current season pvp gear looks pretty slick too, gonna be picking up some of that

you would prefer tiny dick suicide or dog fucking transexual threads, i know. my threads don't delight in the death of a user or attempt to coerce mentally unstable individuals into self harming, sorry. thanks for helping me see that i need to get help for my silly video game threads.
