Honestly, some of the most iconic scenes from Rick And Morty aren't actually funny. They fanbase just decided they were meme worthy and then they spread like an actual cancer. The show in general is pretty funny, though. It sucks that most people's first introduction to the show is some shitty meme.

I know people hate it when they get told this, but you really have to see them all in order. The show is very episodic, but the characters change over the course of the episodes, and part of the appeal of the characters is the way they're juxtaposed with themselves from previous episodes. You'd have to watch them in order.

That feel when you realize that both shows take place in a multiverse. Did you know that there was a reference to Disney's Gravity Falls in Rick & Morty? When they are running past portals one of the portals has a cup falling out of it and in a Gravity Falls episode the character Dipper tosses a cup into a portal.
I guess there were more references too that I didn't know about including Bill Cipher.
