The title of this article is incorrect, because according to this theory the Big Bang still would have happened. We have known for many years that the Big Bang did happen, but we still don't know what was going on before it, or what caused it. The Big Bang is the event in which all the mass and energy of the universe was condensed into a size smaller than a subatomic particle, and then expanded. This is simply another theory that would explain the origin of the Big Bang, it does not disprove it. It also does not disprove the Big Crunch, it just offers up a new way that the two would happen (although it's not really that new at all).
