Alrighty, let's get down to business.
Today was Thanksgiving, obviously. After taking a shower I left with my family at noon and we got back at 5:30. after an hour long drive, we arrived at my maternal grandmothers house, and then all four of us went to a restaurant. On the drive there my grandma shared a story of her crashing into a stop sign a few days earlier, which slightly rattled my mom. I got the seafood fettuccine, which was good. Then I got the chocolate cake, which was good but uncomfortably rich. When we got home I promptly fapped to loli hentai, haven't done much of anything since.

They use Sophos web protection. It's actually surprising ineffective: for instance, they block 4chan but not 8chan. Thankfully this isn't a very well-known site, so not only did it slip through the filters, but they probably won't ever notice it either.

I collect quarters. I'm almost done with the state quarters, but only 1/3 through the current national park ones. I used to collect pennies as well, but sometimes there's six variations for a single year, and I don't wanna deal with that complicated bullshit. I also have three 5-dollar bills on my desk atm.

That's pretty easy to get around. I thought maybe if we all posted furry porn in the thread that would help to protect you from an evil site like this, but given the ways you can circumvent "web protection" services like that, I doubt that furry porn can help you.

Well, it sounds like you have almost enough. There's a great cure for depression that costs less than twenty dollars. You might have to give up your quarter collecting though.

Since there isn't much to talk about ATM, I'll just list a few things I'm doing:
1. Playing Pokemon: Cloud White (unblocked on the school computer). It's extremely repetitive, but so are all the other ROM hacks, so it's not that bad.
2. Gonna watch Justice League this weekend.
3. I haven't gotten around to watching Stranger Things 2 yet, mainly due to the horror binge I've been on for a few weeks (next up is the Ring Trilogy).
4. My parents are watching Star Trek: Discovery right now, but this is clearly a much better use of my time.
5. Random personal fact: I live in Washington state.

Welcome to Minichan. I have a bit of advice.
If one of the posters here starts complementing you all of the time, and calling you mature for your age, it might be a trap. This person may also ask for your email or social media account and spend months discussing your hopes and dreams. This may be a set up so that they can try and fuck you. Just finished watching Teh Rang, it was mostly pretty good but the paranormal elements were a little inconsistent. We just finished dinner, my moms friend brought a poorly cooked chicken, and we made peas, potatoze, and rolls, all of which were pretty basic. I'll leave my full thoughts on the movie once I'm done with the trilogy, which should be tomorrow.

Just finished The Ring Two, it was good but I'm getting tired of how scripted it feels; the way the characters act and talk is very unrealistic and only acts to move the plot or make the atmosphere more soopky. Hopefully I can finish Rings before we leave to see Justice League.

Just finished Rings, it was surprisingly good, although it feels like Samara's backstory changes a little in each movie, and especially in this one it was a little hard to follow. Sometimes I couldn't really tell the difference between Samara and Evelyn when characters were talking about them. The movie just seemed to complicate the stories of the first two, but thankfully it sets itself up for a decent sequel.
I'll be leaving soon for Justice League, not sure what to do after that. I'll binge the Purge trilogy tomorrow.

MOVIE REVIEW: Justice League (2017)
Say what you will about DC in general, this movie was undeniably good. Was it great? Probably not.
I was expecting Superman to be a more controversial part of the movie, especially based on the scene with him and Alfred (which didn't even happen in the movie), but he was once again simply a beacon of hope, nothing more. Also, the movie only focused on the heroes; it felt like they didn't even do anything outside of their secret lairs. I wish they would involve the public more.
I hate how they went the Peter Parker route with the Flash, making him a socially awkward teen whose "secret identity" serves no purpose other to add humor. It worked with Spiderman because Peter's character was usually a significant factor in the plot, but it feels like they just pulled this guy out of nowhere and he didn't do anything other add awkward humor and occasionally act as a deus ex machina. The humor was a bit off sometimes and the jokes were few and far between. I know DC movies are more serious, but the jokes throw things off because of that.
The fighting scenes were, as usual, slightly unrealistic. Why didn't Superman kill Steppenwolf immediately instead of beating him around? And why didn't Aquaman get a single cut on his body after literally any fight? And why didn't Superman leave bruises on Batman's face when he squeezed his head? And why was Wonder Woman able to so easily destroy Steppenwolf's axe when Superman froze it with his breathe?
Other than those complaints, it was pretty good.
Now that I think of it, here's another one: it didn't feel like it brought the whole DC cinematic universe together, it just felt like they shoved all the heroes into one cliched plot and didn't really expand anything. It'll never live up to Marvel.

MOVIE REVIEW: Silent Hill (2006)
This was a very good horror movie, and I can see why they made it into a game franchise. The plot was overall very compelling, but it was a little confusing near the end, and I still don't know what the exact origins of the monsters are. I'm assuming they're basically just zombies, but the movie never made that very clear. I also hated how the female cop, who was a total asshole in the beginning, was forced into the role of savior and, eventually, turned into a sympathetic character, completely ignoring how much of a cunt she was earlier on, and they never addressed why she followed their car in the first place. Also, it seemed like there was some sort of conspiracy tying in with the male police officer, but that was unfortunately no expanded on.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Shining (1980)
The first 45 minutes was absolute garbage, but other than that it was decent. The acting was horrible and the ending scene was confusing. There's not really much to say about it, it was a good psychological horror film but it wasn't actually scary for the most part. Also, they could have cut about half an hour and it would have been way better.
The Sixth Sense is next, then the Cube trilogy. After that, not sure; Pet Sematary, perhaps?

MOVIE REVIEW: 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
Context: This is NOT a sequel to Cloverfield, it is an alternate setting/timeline. They are made by the same person (J.J. Adams) and involves that same kinds of creatures, but they are alternate universes and do not share any characters.
This was a pretty good alternate take on the original Cloverfield, and it didn't have many flaws. I liked how the revealed that the air wasn't poisonous, but there was still a threat of aliens. The clovers looked really good, but I wish they had more screentime of them. Though, of course, this would have lengthened the already long drawn-out end scene and totally change the atmosphere of the movie. I just hope that there will be a sequel soon, because there are still different ways to take this on.
I didn't like how Emmett was so quick to turn on Howard, and Howard's character seemed to be kind of inconsistent. This might add some realism, but sometimes it can ruin a scene, like when he's trying to kill Michelle with a knife while also saying that she'll be safe with him. Other than that it felt mostly realistic and I really enjoyed it.

Nah, the perverted moments from the anime are all there, but there isn't any extra. There are a lot more butt shots, though. The gore is also less graphic, but that's to be expected when it's in black and white.

> you ate the whole bag? you didn't heat up the corn???
1. Yep. Several a week.
2. It warms up in my mouth, so that counts. It also warms up due to the the increase in entropy after being removed from the freezer. And the increase in temperature absolutely skyrockets in the digestive acids within my stomach. By the time I poop it out it's the exact same temperature as the rest of my rectum (though the temperature once again plummets as it hits the cold water in the toilet).

Alright, time for a school update.
1. We had a substitute yesterday for P.E., so several kids skipped a big chunk of it. The teacher got pretty triggered and made us do a big workout, but we have super short classes today because of an assembly so it went by pretty quickly.
2. Speaking of the assembly, I'm skipping it. It's only 45 minutes, it's about the sports program, it's at the end of the school day, and I probably smell like actual shit after P.E., so I'm just gonna sit outside for an hour and a half. I wass gonna take the bus home like usual (except an hour earlie), but my mom just texted me saying that she can pick me up later, so I'm choosing that instead of the bus. I'll probably continue watching the GTLive stream of FNaF 6 (I'll leave thoguths on the game once I'm done watching the playthroughs).

Going to bed soon, so I'll leave a few updates:
1. We ended up getting home late because there were problems with the car, so my mom had to go to a repair shop and ask for what to do. It's ironic because I actually would've gotten gome an hour earlier if I had taken the bus...
2. The full version of Hello Neighbor released today, but I'm not really interested in it that much. I'll probably watch the GTLive stream of it, but I won't be as invested in it as others seem to be.
3. Skimmed through Jacksepticeye's playthrough of Doki Doki, wasn't that much different from GTLive's but it was a refresher since I didn't remember the ending that well for some reason.
4. I've got a couple of movies to watch over the weekend; not sure what order I'll watch them in, though.
5. I've finally gotten a full set of molten armor and tools in Terraria, as well as the Night's Edge, I'll probably start working on making some farms next. My plan is to try and get as much stuff done as I can in pre-hardmode (all armor sets, all items, etc.) and I'll only kill the Wall of Flesh once 1.3 comes out on iOS, which should be this month or January, according to the gamepedia.

On chapter 50 now. I saw a manga-exclusive scene that referenced the poem Elfenlied that the manga and anime were somewhat based on, and I found something interesting. The character Eleven from Stranger Thins was actually partially based on Lucy from Elfen Lied as well as the movie Akira, and Elfen Lied itself was also inspired by Akira. I guess I know what movie to watch next...

I think it makes sense in that Amy's™ pioneered organic TV dinners. Obviously organic food has been around forever but to be the first company to ship frozen, organic, mass-marketed TV dinners I think that qualifies as "pioneering".

MOVIE REVIEW: Bee Movie (2007)
It wasn't super good, but it was entertaining. I was surprised how much social commentary there was, although most of it wasn't very subtle. The thing I'm most surprised about, though, is the amount of scientific inaccuracy. I know it's a fictional movie where bees can talk and live just like humans, but the plot itself had several major issues. Some of the wrong science/logic could be explained as metaphorical (ie. Barry's friend wanting to have a job that requires doing absolutely nothing and could be done with a literal freaking stick), but I can't find a good explanation for some. Here are the worst 5:
1. Male bees don't have stingers.
2. Bees aren't aware that they are pollinating plants. It happens as a by-product of bees getting nectar.
3. Humans should have known that bees had intelligence. There is no way they would have been surprised that bees could talk.
4. Not all flowers are pollinated by bees. Sure, bees do pollinate roughly a third of all crops in America, and there are some plant species that rely solely on bees for pollination, but most pollen-producing plants spread their pollen via wind or other insects.
5. My sister just came home. She's taking a 6-week long break from college for the holidays, so I don't have time to finish this. I could finish it later, but I really don't feel like it.

I've mostly just been watching youtube for a while, but I finally got around to Steins;Gate. The first episode wasn't that great, but I'm gonna keep watching.
Congrats! However, you have only claimed two milestones. This is insignificant compared to countless others (200, 300, 250, 369, 88, etc.). Your accomplishment is nothing in comparison to your potential.

Not much has been added to terraria since the 1.3 update (1.3.5 was pretty big, though). I only play on mobile, so I don't even have 1.3 yet. Mobile hasn't really updated at all since 1.2, but 1.3 should be coming relatively soon. If you don't know anything about the 1.3 update, I can link you a video or two about it.
EDIT: Just found out 1.3 was added to the PS4 about a week ago, and Xbox One should be geeting it in a few days/weeks.
> no the ellipse was fine it conveyed the annoyed tone he was trying to express just fine thanks
1. Capitalize the "n" in "no" at the beginning of the sentence.
2. Put a comma directly after "fine".
3. The "thanks" at the end does not fit well.
4. Add a period after "thanks". 5. bitch

Been up for a little while, just watching youtube. I don't think I'll be able to watch the Steins;Gate movie until later this afternoon or sometime tomorrow because of computer problems. I've only found one way to watch the movie dubbed, but it won't work on the school issued laptops, so I'm gonna have to do it on my PC. Unfortunately my account is locked due to old restrictions, so I'll have to get my dad to fix it later so that I can access it. In the meantime I'll probably watch some other movie and more youtube.

1. Terraria: So far I've got full cobalt armor and the orichalcum pickaxe, still got about 70 titanium ore to go until I get that pickaxe.
2. YouTube: I watched ChippyGaming for a while, then some other random stuff, but now I've decided to watch Chuggaaconroy's playthrough of Pokemon Black/White. He was the first gaming youtube channel I ever saw, whic hintroduced me to letsplays, but I haven't watched him in years.
3. We had chicken for dinner. Other than that literraly nothing has happened today (or the past week, for that matter).

You're way too normal. Have you thought about developing an alcohol or drug dependency to make yourself more interesting? If not, maybe you could engage in some risky lifestyle choices once in a while to spice things up - join a cult, engage in deviant sex acts, go skydiving, cut off a finger to see how it feels. Fuck, if you did something as mundane as going out to your local book club it would seem like a great adventure compared to your normal posts. Find a way to fix that.

2. I'm going to watch the Steins;Gate movie tomorrow morning, I swear to god.
3. I'm doing a project in Terraria by making three expanded worlds, and have them as corrupted, crimsoned, and hallowed as possible. I obviously can't make a world 100% corruption/crimson/or hallow, but I'll get rid of their competing biome and spread it's seeds on all the surface dirt. It's also helpful for getting more titanium, which I need for the armor (already got the titanium sword, as well as the drax).

SUPER MEGA ULTRA AMAZING UPDATE #1: "the 6 hour car ride"
Based on a true story! (dramaticized for effect)
2:00 PM, PST: we leave (we= me, parents, sister, + dog (cat stays home (the lazy fuck))). I spend the next 2 hours listening to music + reading
4:15 - We finally arrive at the ferry, it's rainging quite a bit
4:30 - We leave the car to get ice cream and sandwiches. I spend the next hour on Reddit.
6:00 - We finally board the ferry, I'm still on Reddit but everyone else leaves to do some stuff
6:45 - All of the cars in front of us leave. I, unaware that we were getting off on the second stop, think that my family is gonna make us late. I call my dad, he doesn't pick up, same with mom and sister. I assume the worst and panic. Autistic screeching ensues. Security guards are eying me.
7:05 - I decide to leave the car to find my family. I find them and my dad gets triggered because I left the car unlocked and somebody could've stolen mom's purse; meanwhile, mom + sister are too confused to react (dog = "idk, idc")
7:20 - we leave the ferry
7:50 - we arrive at the vacation house/cabin (pics in the morning perhaps)
8:00 - We realize that there are 3 bedrooms, one of which directly connects to the front door (ie. the front door opens into a bedrooom (wtf)). I volunteer as tribute and take this shitty room because I Spy a few Scientific American magazines, and i must fuel my intellect further
8:35 - I start writing this
8:45 - am interrupted by dinner. dinner is more ethiopian + cheese and crackers (i have the cheese and crackers)

MOVIE REVIEW: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
I found it to be a great movie overall, though some parts were rather boring. My main criticism is that it felt more like a "part 2" than a sequel. I feel like they could have cut the first half of the movie and just put it into the end of "The Force Awakens", and even though this would have been pretty dumb, it would work the same.
The cow milking scene was pretty odd, and it probably shouldn't've been included, but I don't see why it gets so much hate. I'm also surprised that the Ben Swollo meme got so far, especially on r/dankmemes. Snoke's "red room" looked pretty cool, but the grunts' weapons seemed pretty fantasy rather than sci-fi.
Probably the weirdest part of the plot was how when Leia died, but revived herself with the force, and then proceded to do literally nothing during the rest of the movie. And there was no point at which I felt "breathless", although the scene I'm thinking that Rian Johnson was referring to was when Kylo Ren tried to kill Luke Skywalker.
As always, several major parts fo the movie are very scientifically inaccurate (space battles, laser weapons, sound in space, vacuum physics, etc.), but I'm used to that now. There's not that much else to say as I'm not much of a movie critic, so I don't have anything to say on things like cinematography, plot pacing, acting and stuff.

My mom was cleaning out the garage and found an unopened package for me from 2010. It was from my paternal grandpa, who's now in an elderly home nearby. I opened it to find a piece of coral. I can't believe my grandpa would do something like this. Doesn't he know about the dire coral bleaching situation? Coral = frends, not decoration.

Still been watching various youtube stuff. ratboygenius's Flood series was surprising good, and even slightly gripping at times, and thankfully it didn't have the long, drawn-out minecart sequences from the "Dreams Of Minecraft" series. Although the animation is terrible, it's at least somewhat convincing, even though the 3d models are clearly just pasted onto the screen n F1 mode. As a former player of Minecraft, it's a little fun being able to recognize various items and blocks in the background from different mods (for instance, I know the actual purpose of all the stuff in the Potato Knishes scene), even though the texture pack makes it difficult since I never used texture packs.
Petscop 12 also came out, which was the shortest one so far but definitely revealed the most, and was certainly the weirdest overall.

Just got home. I've been kind of addicted to Terminal 00, and I'm incredibly surprised that it isn't somewhat more well-known. There's very little information about it out there, and anyone who has seen it seems to have lost interest. I plan on looking deeper into it, mapping out all of the links and completing the story.

Still exploring Terminal 00 (20 out of 300 links mapped so far) and watching Night Mind. Had a few cookies earlier that were leftover from the book club.

I've spent the past few hours mapping out Terminal 00, which is pretty boring but also surprisingly addictive. I've currently got the paths to 60 pages, out of 301. So far I've only written down the paths to get to certain pages (ie. A leads to B, C and D; B leads to E and F, F leads to G, etc.). I may or may not make a separate thread tomorrow to catalog the progress I make (similiar to squeegee's WoW updates), as I'll want to have a comprehensive list of the stuff that I've got, and it wouldn't really fit in this blog.
Also in the news, I just found Night Mind a couple days ago, and I've been binging him again today, and will do so for the next few days as well. We had salad for dinner, but I was a pussy and had tortellini instead.

I woke up a few hours ago, my parents and sister are out visiting my dad's workplace for some reason but I'm staying home because I don't want to do anything constructive with my time. Instead, I've been re-watching Chuggaaconroy's old Super Mario Sunshine letsplay, which was the first letsplay on YouTube that I remember ever watching. I'm still mapping out Terminal 00, I'm pretty sure I've got about 120 pages mapped so far. Had an Amy's lasagna earlier, now I've got carrots.

Alright, just finished with my birthday. A lot of shitty small things happened, but at least there were a coupla good moments. I'll rant about the bad stuff tomorrow, but for now here's the good shit:
1. Watched "The Wolf of Wall Street", which was extremely good, probably my new favorite realistic fiction movie.
2. Also watched "Mary and the Witch's Flower", which had horrible animation (surprisingly), and the main character was a complete fucking idiot, but other than that it was really good.
3. Most of my presents (of which i had about five) were shit, but I got some nefty cushions for my bed so I can lie in bed with my laptop without experiencing severe back pain.

Holy shit, can't believe I forgot to update my blog today. A few "big" things happened:
1. Took my biology final and definitely failed. For those of you who think I shouldn't give up hope, I'll have you know that I literally only answerd 10% of the questions, randomly guessed most of the multiple choice, completely skipped all the free respones, and I need a 60% in the fuinal to pass the class, so I'm totally screwed.
2. Skipped the math final since even if i got 100% i would still fail the class this semester so why even try...
3. Finished Universal Paperclips, which was surprisingly short.
4. Took the history final as well. The first part went alright, but then we had to make a poster for some reason, which was the dumbest shit ever, worst 45 minutes of my life today. I need an 85% in the final to pass the class this semester, I think it's 50/50 chance rn.
5. Been binging AntsCanada all day.
6. Fuck you, owen. Dumb little bitch.

Went to see a new therapist today. He was pretty cool. The first half was good/normal, but then he did the same thing the other two therapists I've had did, which is where they find something arbitrary to focus on, even if it's totally unrelated. He said maybe playing board games could help me cope with my (mild) depression/anxiety, but after I explained to him that I really didn't like board games he was just started trying to make me admit that I do, even though I don't. By the end of the "therapy" we were literally arguing over whether or not I liked playing board games. Trust me, it wasn't optimal, and it's even made things worse (for today, anyway).

I ended up spending a few hours burning stuff, literally. I have a bad hobby of burning things, especially plastic (yes, I know it's toxic). Today I used a metal plate about a foot long from an old Boy Scouts mess, which worked way better than the smaller pot that I usually use. Spent about 2 hurs burning shit (while watching youtube on my phone, of course), mainly pea/corn bags, scraps of plastic from the trash and old perler bead supplies. I accidentally damages the grill's cover, but it shouldn't be a big deal. I'll probably stay up the rest of the night.
Also, my sister is leaving to go back to college after winter break, so I'll have to start using the bus again, which sucks.

Info dump here, then I'll be getting back to blogging.
1. I stopped posting mid-2018 because I didn't have a computer over the summer.
2. At the end of the summer, I went to a therapeutic boarding school. I did not have a computer there, so I couldn't post.
3. Almost a year later, when I finished at that school, I went to a normal boarding school where I am still going. This was a few months ago. I am now 19, finishing up senior year.
4. I haven't come here since getting to this school because for a few months it was blocked because of my restrictions, and once they were lifted I just didn't remember or care.
5. I want to use this blog daily, but there's a chance that the IT at my new school will take notice of the site. This wouldn't have been a problem at my old high school, but if they realize that this site has, well, let's just say it has no image filters, then they might block it. But I will advocate for its use if it comes to that. And don't worry, there's no way they'd come and read all this shit just out of curiosity or concern.
Now I'd like to address what unfortunately seems to be the only thing that many people remember about me:
Any statements or references that I made to possible pedophilia, such as liking 12 year olds, using CP, using loli hentai, were all jokes! Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. I was perfectly fine with creating this persona because I was anonymous, and thought it was a funny running gag, but I no longer think it's a good idea, mainly as I'm an adult now. I no longer want this to be a recurring thing, so I'm getting it out of the way here.
Anyway, I will soon be posting my first genuine blog reply for the first time in 2.3 years!

It wasn't a permanent ban but they would just lock you out until the account holder called up to say "I'm so sorry he said that I'll make sure little Meta is a good boy in future". This was in the '96-'98 timeframe. Perhaps AOL in Europe had different standards back then? This was way before AOL opened up AOL chat and email to everyone.

The best part was I had completely unfiltered access to the internet so I could (and did) see everything. It makes me sad today so many parents put parental controls and gay "screen time" restrictions on their kids' internet access.
Just like my mom would let me ride my bike around town all day unsupervised (no helmet either!). Parents don't do that anymore. They got their kids in helmets and knee protectors and and elbow protectors and high visibiliy vests and training wheels way too long (I was off training wheels by age 5) and they're only allowed to ride on the paved path in the park, and then only in sight of their parents.

I watched youtube for the last few hours, except when I took a nap and then took my dog for a walk, and I've done a little homework. Had some blueberries and chocolate milk as a snack.
IRC Activity Log - Helped becky with some basic math in her video game Anno 1800 because she was too drunk to calculate the maximum outputs of her buildings, so I did the calculations for her.
Food Review - Just finished having buttered rice and chicken for dinner which was quite good, although the butter made more of a taste difference rather than a textural one, so it seemed more dry than it actually was. But I still liked it because it was rice, and as has been the trend recently, there is a tiny amount of it left for tomorrow.
My mom is churning homemade ice cream right now. I will review it in my next post.
@1,119,732 (Meta !Sober//iZs)
I have mixed views about this subject. It's definitely overkill to implement tech restrictions on your kid unless they already have an obvious and detrimental problem regarding tech use, and overemphasis on safety can mean your kid won't be doing as many fun, outdoor activities with their friends. At the same time, there is a certain level of common sense that didn't used to be enforced, like basic rules such as wearing a helmet and not letting pre-teens on the deep web, which have obvious benefits with little detriment. I personally have experienced both sides of this dilemma, with my parents often either being too strict and enforcing a 2 hour screen limit when there's literally no reason to, or too lenient, resulting in me not doing my work and falling behind in school because I have a sever lack of internal motivation.

The homemade ice cream I had last night was very good. Unfortunately, it was way too soft. There isn't an inherent problem with that, but it meant that a large amount of it was completely melting by the time I was close to finishing. Regardless, it tasted quite good, especially for vanilla, as I prefer chocolate.
I officially applied for admission to a local college last night! This was just the initial application, and it doesn't mean that I'm accepted into the college yet, so there will be more to come.

My main area of interest is cosmology. However, this is a relatively small field compared to the rest of modern physics, so I doubt any college in my area will have a specific major for it. I would be okay with settling for something in the same branch, probably astrophysics or quantum physics.

Upon my search for a snack tonight, I discovered that we have a box of unopened corn flakes. You know what that means for tomorrow's post...
Also, I though of a fun idea - tomorrow I will go through this entire blog and recount many of the memories that have been shared here. I will essentially be posting a mega-bump in which I reply to many of my old comments to provide commentary, as well as respond to other users for various things. Might go terribly.

Breakfast today was a bowl of Whole Foods' 365 Everyday Value® branded corn flakes. They were no that good, very bland and little texture. I really wish we had Kellog's! After that, I had a frozen Amy's breakfast burrito, which was fine as usual. Currently in and out of classes.
Just a few minutes ago, we got a massive truckload of bark delivered to our house. It was dumped on the driveway and some yard workers will come tomorrow to spread it on the yard. Personally, I think this is pointless - last time we did this, all the improvement was essentially eradicated by in a few months, and all the grass that we ripped up and replanted was back to being 50% moss. If I ever own a house, I will probably never take care of the lawn at all, because I just don't care about it that much.

Nothing much to report, just more youtube and homework with my peanuts. I also spent some time browsing quora.
I looked online for some new web browser games to play, and I found one called Isleward. It was confusing at first, but was actually pretty fun for the first hour, until I realized how boring and repetitive it would end up being. It sucks because most good browser games don't work on my school computer, because they're blocked as mature for no reason.
My mom just ordered some Thai, I'll review it tonight.

I went to the game and got excited at first because it wasn't blocked, but then I recognized it and remembered that I had played it a while ago and didn't like it. I tried it again anyway, but I still didn't like it. Sorry.

Food Review: Thai Takeout!
The Wide Rice Chicken Noodle soup was very good. I had never had this type of noodle before, and although it was hard to eat once there wasn't much of it left, I still really liked it. The broth tasted fine, and the chicken was really nice, although I would have preferred less sprouts.
I don't remember ever having Crab Rangoons before, and they were really good. It was slightly tricky to eat, but not problematic. The taste actually felt like it got too strong over time, but maybe that was just because I was getting less hungry as I ate more of them, and had less baseline pleasure to cancel out the strong taste, but who knows.

I took my dog for a walk shortly after I woke up this morning, joining my mom in the beginning of her daily running routine. When I got back, I had a frozen breakfast sandwich, then some of the rice from last night. Way late, I had myself a few sandwiches with nothing but peanut butter in them, and dipped them in lemonade. I'm not joking - it's good.
It's been raining hard for the past few hours, but our landscaper is still spreading bark like a boss.

Just some more youtube and homework for today - I'm noticing a pattern. My mom spent tonight making lasagna for tomorrow instead of dinner for today, so I had a few slices of turkey for dinner. I'll have some Jaunitas chips tonight when we watch Charged on Netflix.

The buttered bread that I had earlier was amazing. I had lasagna for dinner, which was pretty good except for all the zucchini. I also had a little chocolate ice cream with whip cream a few minutes ago, which was really good.
I'm not reviewing Charged. It was about this guy who was hiking and found a dead bear in a barrel, so he poked it with his knife. Turns out the barrel was abandoned electrical equipment, and he got a massive electrical shock, leading to the amputation of his left hand.

Hello! First quintuple-post in a while. I had more macaroni for breakfast, then some rice and a frozen burrito for lunch. After that I took my dog for a walk. Had the leftover lasagna for dinner, and a bowl of vanilla ice cream for desert. All the while watching youtube and doing schoolwork. Also watched the latest episode of Rick and Morty.
A few deer walked by our house, so our dog started barking at them but we got her to shut up. Our cat was sitting in the grass in the yard, and the deer stared at her for a couple minutes before walking away.

Today was as uneventful as always. I had more cornflakes for breakfast, a frozen breakfast sandwich for lunch, some potato chips as a snack, and my mom made pasta caprese for dinner (one of my favorites!), and took my dog for a short walk afterwards. I also happened to get accepted into my college of choice this morning, which was neat.

I have a basic flip hone with an atrocious camera. Seriously, it's the lowest resolution of anything I've ever seen.
After eating bowl of peas for lunch, I had the leftover pasta caprese after taking my dog for a walk, and then some sunflower seeds as a snack. Garbanzo beans and chips for dinner.
Today was a combination of work, random videos and a Twomad livestream.
I am about to watch the second episode of The English Game with my mom, probably gonna make myself some ice cream.

I spent over an hour talking about anime with a friend from my first boarding school. He just started watching anime, and since I've seen 46 of them, I was able to give him plenty of recommendations. After having a breakfast burrito and some chips, I took my dog for a walk. Currently trying to get some work done, but Twomad is making it difficult with his Minecraft stream.

The college I plan on attending is within walking distance of my house (although my parents want to pay 10k for dorms because it gives me "the full experience").

My dad ordered pizza for dinner. There was veggie pizza, and sausage and mushroom pizza, which I of course preferred. This afternoon was kinda retarded. We went out to deliver flowers for a grandma, then went to get Mexican takeout from Cactus. Little did I know that we would be eating at a crowded park in the scorching heat. I was extremely worried the entire time, because I was the only one of us wearing a facemark, and there were very few people with face masks or following social distancing at the park. We ate the food in the middle of the hot sun, which wasn't ideal. My chicken-mushroom quesadilla was good, but the ratio of mushroom-to-chicken was way too high, and it was about half the size that I remember getting when we went to the restaurant before Corona Spring. And my fried rice had these weird seed pods in it that completely ruined it. But whatever.
We were going to get gelato, but nobody was following social distancing or wearing face masks at the gelato place, so we just had ice cream at home. Unfortunately all of this meant that I missed the vast majority of Twomad's Minecraft stream today, but it looks like there was only about twenty minutes of entertaining content anyway, so it's not a big loss.

The computers are MacBooks, issued by the school. If it gets destroyed, they have no choice but to wait another week or two for the school to get a new one, and install a bunch of software on it. Plus it will cost them a thousand dollars to the school for the mandatory purchasing fee.

After that we went to Chick-fil-A where I had the deluxe chicken sandwich, a side of waffle fries and a small chocolate shake, all of which were very good. Other than that I spent most of the day watching YouTube. I snacked on some peanuts around 4. We had Thai takeout for dinner. I had a wonton soup and a side of crab rangoons, and a little leftover chicken. The chicken had poorly tasting sauce, the rangoons were just as good as before, and the crab wontons were alright, although there were only nine of them, and I would have expected more from an entree. All in all, very good dinner. I forgot to mention earlier that we ended up watching Free Solo last night, which I have already seen. We were planning on doing something tonight, like playing a game or watching a movie, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen now. I still haven't started my physics project that's due Monday, so hopefully I will spent a lot of tomorrow working on it.

I also had the chocolate cupcake that I hadn't gotten around to eating for the past few days. After that I caught today's Twomad livestream. Later we all played some Exploding Kittens, and then I went outside to shovel yard waste into the compost bin while they played poker. At some point soon I will shower, and then read some more of "The Mammoth Book of Cthulhu" - a collection of short stories based on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft. I personally don't like most of this collection, but I am already two-thirds through, so I might as well finish.

Then my Dad grilled some hot dogs for lunch, which we had with some chips - they were pretty good. I also had a bowl of chips as a snack, and then my Dad grilled hamburgers for dinner, which were really good. Other than that, I have just been watching YouTube all day, as well as the latest Rick And Morty episode, although I plan to binge The Devs tomorrow, then some anime. Because I am leaving in just a few days, and my Mom bought a ton of frozen treats the other day, I have been having two fudge bars a night, and I will switch to having a large bowl of ice cream when they're out. This is not a problem since it won't last past this week, and no one else seems to be eating it. First, I finished Bunny Girl Senpai, which in my opinion was really bad. I couldn't find a pari of sunglasses so I had to get a hat, and my parents brought the wrong face masks, so the trip was of to a rough start, but not that bad. After leaving, we hit up our local doctor place to get a copy of my negative test result for Covid-19, which I need in order to return to my boarding school. We also went to Starbucks - I got three petite vanilla scones. Then we got on the ferry to Whidbey Island! Pretty quickly we got to a cafe-type place where I got biscuits and gravy with hash browns and eggs, which was really good. Then we went to the beach and took a walk for a while. I really don't like walking, so I occupied myself by trying to break as many seashells with my feet without my family noticing. Also, our dog kept wanting to drink random littles puddles of ocean water, and at one point was so hot that she just gave up and laid down in a massive puddle. We had to spray her off with a Dog Sprayer™ before letting her back in the car.
Once we were finally done with that, I took a low-quality nap on the way back. Once we got off the ferry, I convinced everyone that we should go to Ivar's. I got fried chicken with french fries and some ranch. Meanwhile, I was planning to continue reading Rendezvous With Rama during the car rides, but somehow I didn't get around to it. Once we got back, I just started watching YouTube, which I am now done with, and I am now about to pack for the flight tomorrow!

I am in the airport now, just about ready to start boarding. We got Starbucks on the way here - I had one of the breakfast sandwiches and a chocolate frappuccino. For those of you who are not caught up, I am heading for the east coast to continue attending my boarding school. I will be there until late July.

I had a sandwich and some jelly beans on the plane ride. I also watched The Darkest Minds, which was poorly thought out and had a terrible ending, and Shazam, which I liked a lot more. After getting a rental car we went to Wendy's. I got the baconator with baconator fries and a medium chocolate swirly. It was alright. After the long car ride, I've been chilling in the hotel, and tomorrow I will be returning to school!

Hey! I am now back at my borading school on the East Coast. The day started out with a trip to Starbucks - I got a tomato and mozzarella panini - it was amazing! After arriving at my school, we got everything set up with a fair amount of precautions, and I went down to my dorm. After watching YouTube for a while, another kid came, and we played some basketball. Then another kid came to our dorm, and we watched Space Balls with a staff member. I thought it had some funny scenes and some clever moments, but was overall underwhelming. Dinner for me was grilled chicken and rice pilaf - very good! I also had two oranges for night snack. Tomorrow will be the first day of on-site school, and I will let you know how it goes!

Today was pretty interesting. In the morning I had a small bowl of Frosted Flakes along with a few oranges. After doing some school, I had a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. Then we went outside for a while - played basketball, had a nerf gun fight, and then did icebreakers. After coming back in I had chicken Alfredo for dinner - although there was way too much chicken compared to the amount of pasta. Still, I was able to snag about half of the parmesan. We watched the second Pirates of the Caribbean, although I left after half an hour to do homework and watch YouTube. Now that we're putting computers away, I'll have another bowl of Frosted Flakes for snack.

Last night we started watching The Martian. It's a great movie, but I've already seen it a few times, so I'm not really enjoying it. Today my breakfast was a sausage and egg breakfast croissant sandwich, and I honestly didn't like it, mainly since it was cold. After school and some YouTube, I had lunch, which was a burrito with Spanish rice, refried beans and chicken fajita. It was really good, although I didn't like the chicken too much. I just watched the latest episode of Rick And Morty, 4x10, which was great.

After lunch, I ended up talking to a few friends from my old boarding school about various political subjects, mainly how to address systematic racism. To be honest, it was really just two of them arguing, one more vehemently than the other, while I popped in every few minutes to make fun of them. After this we went outside for a while. I played quite a bit of frisbee with some of the other students and a staff. When they were don, I practiced by myself for a few minutes. Then one of the staff cooked up some hot dogs, as well as the "Beyond Burger", which I really did not like. After coming back in, I re-instigated the discussion with my friend from earlier which ended up being about the privatization of the police force, although this time I took time to respond and, unlike my other friend, did not get triggered whenever he said something dumb. We were forced to take a break from our computers during dinner, although we just ended up continuing to watch The Martian. My dinner was tortellini with a sausage and garlic bread. The tortellini was really good, and the sausage was alright, but the bread was kinda boring. After a few hours of YouTube, I had some Frosted Flakes as a night snack, and now we are about to resume watching TV.

We finished The Martian last night, and I had a brief conversation about time dilation with a new staff. This morning I had some Frosted Flakes and oranges again. After school, I started watching PewDiePie's charity livestream, but it was way too laggy, so I had to quite right when he started playing Terraria. I had another political conversation with my friend, this time about anarchy and government spending. Lunch was a turkey, bacon and cheese sandwich, which was not very good, but removing the top certainly helped. Now we'er about to go outside for PE and other activities.

I played some frisbee outside, but then came back in to participate in the online "social hour", which was just me and two other people. After that I did a little bit of walking, then worked on memorizing the algorithms for my gear cube. We came in a little early to clean our rooms, then I watched YouTube. For dinner I had General Tso's Chicken - horrible - and some Spanish rice, which was great. We watched the first episode of Avatar, which the new staff and a few other kids seemed to adore, but I really didn't like it. After that I got back to watching YouTube, and doing homework of course. I had a decent discussion on IRC about the qualities and flaws of the movie Joker. About to put my computer up, and I'm hoping we watch something good on TV. Also, I am almost done with Rendezvous With Rama. Thankfully, the second book in the series is here at the school library, so I will go straight to that next.

We started watching Iron Man 2 last night, which I really like. I did not do any reading, so I will finish Rendezvous With Rama tonight. My breakfast was eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns and a scone, out of which I only liked the bacon and sausages. After school and watching some YouTube, I had a burger for lunch. However, I didn't realize I had to add toppings in the request, so I just got a patty. The current system for ordering food is very scuffed and contains lots of error, so it's not a surprise this would happen, as it never lays out how exactly you should order.

I just read and talked with a friend while outside, and then we had a group though zoom, in which one of my friends told his life story. After that some staff grilled some hot dogs outside, and I had four of them - I greatly preferred the turkey dogs rather than the normal ones. After this and a bit of reading, I went back inside for a weekly family call. This one was fine at first, but ended with my parents trying to continue pushing a college program on me that I do not want. Unfortunately I really don't have a say at the moment, so I have to go along with it, but I strongly doubt I will end up participating in the program. After this I watched a little YouTube, and then we had dinner. My dinner was a large chicken burrito with a side of Spanish rice and corn with chips. I did not like the corn, but I had the rice with chips, and a small amount of the burrito (I was pretty full from the hot dogs). The I got back to YouTube, also did some schoolwork, and started another political conversation with my friend, this time about the candidate he plans to vote for, Jo Jorgensen, although he has not yet responded to my critiques of her plan to remove all foreign troops and never aid foreign countries in war. I also had a couple mandarin orange cups as a snack - ironic, as we are about to continue watching Iron Man 2.
Also, Meta send me a rude PM, which I did not appreciate. I might have to take a break soon if this keeps up - hopefully not for two years this time!

I will be posting once or twice a day from now on. Because a lot has happened in the last few weeks, I will occasionally post about some recent event, not necessarily one that happened on the day of the post.
Today, we resumed in-person classes for the students who are on campus (including me), which is going smoothly so far. During lunch I took advantage of a new snack strat - when no staff are looking, take multiple bags of chips and throw them in a cupboard under the drink dispenser, then retrieve them with my backpack later in the day. This way I can sneak lots of food to the dormitory without having to keep it in my bag the whole day. Pretty epic!

All boarding schools are different. In regards to the two I've been to - they both had good attributes and bad attributes, but in the end someone's experience there was dictated mainly by the people around them. If you go to a boarding school and hate it there, then either the place is genuinely shit, or more likely you just have a poor mindset and are being an unintelligent wimp.
True enough but i am guessing you are in america as opposed to britain right? The british boarding schools had a very bad rep in the past as i understand it. Just ask Stephen fry
Especially in the past but except instead of homosexuality, zizek would say it was a certain kind of unconscious ideological bribery that acted like a tool of cohesion. Like a ritual in the sense
that it was something kept secret since nobody wanted to talk about it, uniting because its a shared secret, and bribery in the sense you get to take part in obscenity.

I personally didn't have a good time in boarding school. I really didn't fit in there. Of course I had a bunch of mental trauma that I only started treating at 17.
I only ended up in boarding school because my mom made me drop out of normal school in a schizophrenic fit. I was going to go live with my dad, which meant he was going to go to court to re-do custody and there's no way my mom would have made it easy. She said "actually I want Triptych to go to boarding school", probably figuring my dad would say no because it's fucking expensive and then she could use that against him in court. So he said yes and I got to finish high school. I feel bad because it was a lot of fuckin' money but in the end it wasn't my fault.

I'm glad you seemed to enjoy your time in boarding school. Do you have siblings? If so, do they also go to boarding school? The same one?
Is there a specific reason you went to boarding school? It's super expensive, it's not exactly a decision to make on a whim.

3. I'm a radical leftist antifa commie
4. College is going good good enough. I'll transfer this fall & major in astronomy.
5. Recently moved into the dorms b/c our house is getting remodeled soon. Dorm life is mediocre.
6. Haven't had any friends in almost 2 years and getting pretty pissed off about it. Discord was my social life for a while but now that's died off.

If we're allowed to ask questions, I have a question for you. How mathematical is astronomy? Both in pure maths (calculus etc) and applied maths (analysing 10MB of data etc). Are the final exams full of maths or it is full of questions which can be answered by words?

Any and all questions are encouraged!
So far the only actual astronomy I've taken in college was an introductory course, and the little math present in the class was basically a few algebraic equations. From what I've heard, astronomy is definitely a very mathematical field, but calculus isn't involved most of the time - but I heard this in the context of taking astronomy courses, so maybe it's different for actual scientists doing actual astronomy. In fact, since astronomy is such a varied field, I'd assume different subjects can have drastically different levels of necessary math. Meanwhile for people who graduate with an astronomy degree but don't pursue a career in actual astronomy, there are a wide variety of available jobs that make use of the data analysis you learn - I don't know how mathematical that would be.

So I'm in the process of deciding which college to transfer to later this year, and today we did a tour of Western Washington University. The normal tours were full so we had to do a self guided tour, so we didn't get as much information as we have from visiting other colleges. It was a really nice campus, and from the info we did get the academic and social environments are good. Not much to say about it in detail.
Afterwards we got Mexican food - I had nachos & seafood enchiladas which were all great. Probably gonna make some scrambled eggs in a bit and head to bed in a couple hours.

I went to my first concert! It was the Norwegian singer Aurora performing in Seattle, with an opening act by American singer Sub Urban. I only found Aurora's music last weekend, and I randomly stumbled across someone asking for tickets to the Seattle concert, so I looked it up and decided to go. Even going alone, it was way more fun than I expected! I don't think I've experienced that much positive energy before.

Live music is like the movie theatre of music. Except all your shit is searched on entry before you're herded into a crowded pin. And for what? Just to hear a worse version of the studio recording as the band attempts to show feigned enthusiasm while re-playing a song they've played for the upteenthousanth time.
What a great opportunity to buy overpriced drinks to help you forget that you've wasted both time and money on this 'experience'.

Huh? My stuff wasn't searched, I just had to put a couple items in a little bin while I went through the metal detector for three seconds, and I didn't have any drinks. The place being crowded didn't bother me. And yeah the live songs are obviously not gonna be as fine-tuned as the recorded version but being there while they're playing more than makes up for that, also the singer was really enthusiastic. Dunno what you're talking about, but it's the only concert I've been to so idk if my experience was the norm.

Some updates.
Fall 2022: Transferred from the community college in my hometown to a private college a few hours away. Very big change: no longer at home with my family and pets, suddenly around people all the time cuz I wasn't socially active at my community college, etc. Main benefit is that I now have access to more advanced classes within my major (physics-astronomy) and can get more attention from professors. Main downside: tens of thousands of dollars for tuition, whereas my community college was free. That’s why I started at a community college in the first place, so we could save money (and I wasn’t gonna get in anywhere else with my shit grades).
Winter 2022: Struggle to make friends and perform well in classes (not a surprise). Also, after two years of learning about leftist politics and struggling to identify what I believe, I finally land on a specific ideology: anarchism. On a related note, I start volunteering with a mutual aid project which I have continued to be involved with.
Spring 2023: After initially making some progress, I end up with no friends by the end of my first year. Due to isolation and stress during finals, I’m suicidal for the last week of the semester. Somehow I passed all my classes. I told my family soon after and started going to therapy a couple months later.
Summer 2023: Didn’t do much aside from taking some online classes from my old community college for transfer credits and staying active in the mutual aid project I’m in.
Fall 2023: I went to my second ever concert, my favorite band: BABYMETAL. By far one of the best experiences of my life. Very different from the Aurora concert, much larger and more intense. Later in the semester a bunch of students organize an encampment to demand our college divest from Israel. I help out with it and it lasts a few days, but we compromise and leave too early, so nothing ends up happening. Also, by the end of the semester I have finally made one real friend.
Winter 2023: On the very last day of winter break I find out my only friend has to take medical leave and won’t be at school the next semester. All my momentum disappears and I go back to being a degenerate shut-in. We still call every few days though, which is really nice.
Spring 2024: I applied to a bunch of summer astronomy REUs but haven’t gotten into any, so I’m not sure what I’ll end up doing this summer. Classes are going alright and I’m planning to graduate at the end of fall semester later this year. Right now me and some other students are trying to start another encampment to demand divestment from Israel, but there might not be enough support for it. I still haven’t made any new friends.
> If we're allowed to ask questions, I have a question for you. How mathematical is astronomy? Both in pure maths (calculus etc) and applied maths (analysing 10MB of data etc). Are the final exams full of maths or it is full of questions which can be answered by words?
After having taken several advanced astronomy courses, I can now answer this question properly!
It's 99% math. Almost everything we learn, we can describe using math. We've learned how to calculate the distances to stars and galaxies, how old a star can live based on its composition, how the ratio of different elements changed during the first few minutes after the Big Bang, etc. It's all very interesting stuff and it's all modeled with equations. The introductory classes rely on algebra and sometimes geometry, while the advanced classes use calculus. The exams still have some information based problems that can be solved without math, but it's maybe 1/3rd of the questions. There's only been one class where we didn't use much math, and that was when we learned about the moon and planets in the solar system. Only one of my classes so far has used "applied" math, as in writing computer code to analyze data, which was a class about the physics of stars. So we used code to model different properties of stars or analyze publicly available data.

I have an essay to write about a movie I watched for my only non-STEM class (need it for credits), a presentation for my astronomy class (about stars), and a presentation for my math class (about chaos & complexity). Both presentations are due on Tuesday and I haven't started either yet. The essay is a month late.
23bitch !tSUV24M.jg double-posted this 1 year ago, 2 hours later, 6 years after the original post[^][v]#1,294,090
Okay I didn't get that much work done tonight but at least I finally started all three projects. With ADHD that's usually the biggest hurdle. And I have a good idea for how to complete all of them.
The essay is about the 2019 film Palestine, which is about an Israeli soldier who loses his memory in an accident and is taken in by a Palestinian woman in the West Bank who believes him to be her son who went missing years earlier. My essay will focus on the formal elements of one specific scene, where the main character is arrested by the IDF and footage ends up on the news. The news in Palestine shows a completely different representation of the situation than how it's represented in Israeli news, and the people shown watching have very different reactions. So the essay's gonna be about the difference between how each side views the conflict, as depicted in the movie, and therefore what point the movie is trying to make.
My astronomy presentation is gonna be about a paper using JWST data claiming to disprove that Cepheid variable overcrowding in Hubble Space Telescope data was a potential cause of the Hubble tension. You can learn about that in this video at 22 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NeKR7bqolY&t=1331s. And here's the paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2401.04773 This is a topic I consider myself to be pretty familiar with (at the undergraduate level, at least) so it's gonna be pretty easy. The only thing I have to learn that I don't already know is how/why Cepheid variables pulsate, but that doesn't seem very complicated. My math presentation is gonna be about complexity and multifractality in the Crab Nebula as described in this paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2206.04717 Unfortunately that's a topic I'm completely unfamiliar with so I might have to bullshit it to some extent, just focusing on the astrophysics and the results of the paper without detailing the math cuz I don't understand it. Not ideal for a math class but it's due in two days so I don't have much of a choice.
Okay, definitely wasn't the best choice to spend all that time writing this when I should be sleeping cuz it's almost 5am so goodnight fora.

Lots and lots and lots of Jpop. My favorite is BABYMETAL who I saw in concert last fall, although they’re more metal than pop. My other favorites are Ado, Reol, Kenshi Yonezu, Atarashii Gakko, and Yoasobi. At this point Spotify pretty much only recommends me Japanese music which has gotten kinda annoying lol. Really wishing I continued learning Japanese in high school.
I don’t listen to nightcore anymore, it was sadly just a phase.

Okay, first update for today. I went to a meeting with a bunch of other students who are working to get the college to divest from Israel and other similar goals. I haven't been to one of the meetings before but I knew a few of the people. I was hoping the result would be plans for doing another encampment, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Thankfully we are still planning some big actions though. I'm not gonna say what they are cuz I don't want the school I attend to be identifiable by anything in this thread, but I'm looking forward to it.

I support the Palestinian people, not Hamas or whatever government the Palestinians live under. There are plenty of analyses of the conflict from an anarchist perspective which describe what a non-state solution to the conflict might look like, which you can easily find online if you want. Regardless, I don't wanna debate shit here, there are already tons of threads about this war.

Then after presenting I gotta finish my other presentation in 3 hours and then present that. I was gonna do that essay afterwards but that's probably not gonna happen now, oh well.

Welp, I didn't even present for my math class today. I was supposed to present last week but wasn't ready so it got pushed to today. But people who were already assigned to present today presented first and then there wasn't time for me. So I stayed up for no reason and I'm not even done with the other presentation I'm actually doing today. Thankfully I don't have much work left on that. I'll get to it after having lunch while watching Last Week Tonight.

I might try and work on the essay tonight but idk.

Finally done with the quantum physics assignment! It was revisions for the latest unit exam. I got 7 out of the 11 problems wrong, but 4 of them were in a 4-part problem where I only made a small mistake in the first part and it caused me to get the rest wrong, so that was an easy fix. I think I got them all correct this time except 1 which isn't a big deal. Also, helped out with the pro-palestine stuff happening on campus. It was really nice after not having any social life for the last few months. Anyways, gonna watch some clips from the SDMP and then the latest EmpLemon video to relax before going to bed. Currently eating mini Oreos and Hershey kisses.

What does Palestines view on lgbt people have to do with Israels colonization of Palestine and Israels human rights violations?
If OP wishes to disestablish the state of Israel and replace it with a state of Palestine, then 1,300,000 LGBT people living in former Israel will be murdered. So I was asking if he is excited to get started? Instead I get a bunch of replies about Hamas and Israel bombing Gaza Strip, as if either of them have anything to do with it.

Please don't assume things about what someone believes and then try to argue with them about it, you're making it too obvious that you're a dumbass. When did I say I want to replace Israel with a Palestinian state? I'm an anarchist, and as I mentioned before, there are many perspectives from anarchists about what a non-state solution could look like. Surprise: none of them involve the oppression of queer people. Anyway, the idea that Palestine is supremely dangerous for queer people and Israel is a save haven for them is a myth, please do some basic google searches before spewing nonsense.

It was awesome! They were headlined by Dethklok, one of those incredibly shitty metal bands that I can't understand how anyone likes. I got there right as they were starting and just chilled in the lounge 'till they were done. A couple minutes before they finished I started working my way into the crowd and eventually got relatively close to the stage, ended up being right behind the mosh pit. The venue was massive so the band got a big stage and screen behind them which was dope.
I don't really know how to describe the concert itself cuz I'd imagine it's similar to any other metal concert. The band went on stage and performed. Even though I was relatively close to the stage they were still pretty far and people in front of me were blocking them sometimes, so at first I thought it might suck but I got used to that pretty quick and it was really fun. Here's a video (not mine) of them performing my favorite song from them.

First we had an hour and a half flight to Salt Lake City where we had a layover for an hour, then took an hour and a half flight to Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the first flight I played Celeste on my laptop, and on the second flight I started reading Death's End, the third book in the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy, which is my favorite book series (the first book is The Three Body Problem). Once we got to Oklahoma we got a rental car and went to the grocery store so my sister could get some food that she can eat with her diet.
Then we went to visit my grandparents. We had dinner together and it was really nice to catch up with them. Although it wasn't perfect, my mom was having a hard time because the divorce is going on so my parents left and took a while to talk by themselves during dinner. My grandparents made salad with asparagus and salmon, which was good although I don't really like salad. Then we had some ice cream. After dinner we all went on a walk for a bit, which was nice but my grandfather's physical health is slowly deteriorating so he struggled a bit. After getting back we said goodbye and drove to our Airbnb. We'll be here for the next few days until we leave on Tuesday. Now I'm about to read some more of Death's End before I go to bed.

I just got my grades back: A in stellar astrophysics, A in middle eastern cinema, A+ in complexity and chaos, and C in quantum physics! Term GPA of 3.5, by far my best semester yet since community college (every term gpa at my new college before this was less than 3).

Another full day update. Started off slow but we went out for lunch at 3pm. My sister stayed back cuz of her diet, so it was me, my parents and grandparents. We went to a decent restaurant but some of the dishes were weird. Like my dad got "chicken and spinach ravioli", but it was just a bunch of chicken with a little spinach on it, and two normal cheese ravioli lol. Anyway I had a normal cheeseburger with fries, it was alright. After that we went back to the Airbnb and played codenames together, which was fun. The team I was on lost both rounds but idc cuz I just suck at that game. Then we went to visit the Greenwood Museum which was dedicated to the history of Tulsa, and especially the Greensboro district. So we learned about the Tulsa Race Massacre which I had known about before but didn't know any of the details, it's a really interesting piece of history.
After that we went back to the Airbnb and had a light dinner, I had leftover salmon from the previous night and fries from lunch. Then we played a card game called "The Game" which is a collaborative game where you're given numbered cards and you have to work together to try to stack the cards in ascending and descending order. One of the players couldn't play anymore cards once we had 11 left, which is pretty good. After that I showed my grandparents a sudoku solver I made in python a couple months ago (I worked on it for about a week, it was really fun to make). Then once my grandparents left I went on a walk through Tulsa University to explore the campus which is really nice. During the walk I listened to the latest episode of my favorite podcast The Deprogram, a casual news/politics podcast run by three Marxist YouTubers. This episode featured guest Alan Macleod for the fourth time, it was a good episode. Anyway I'm about to watch a little YouTube and then read some more of Death's End.
Oh yeah, and we decided we'll take a day trip to Oklahoma City on Sunday to visit our old houses and other stuff. I'll be sure to write a post about that trip.

Managed to read a lot tonight. It's almost 4:30am now but if I get up at 12:30 and immediately shower then I'll get enough sleep and still be able to start activities at 1pm like we planned. I'll be able to read even more on Sunday during the trip to Oklahoma City, cuz it's a 1.5 hour drive. I'm really enjoying Death's End. In fact I wish I had remembered more of it from when I first read it as a kid, but there's only a few things past the first book in the series that I remembered. It's making me want to reread more of my favorite sci-fi books once I'm done with this, but I've got so much new stuff to read this summer as well so it'll be hard to choose.

Today's been going well so far. I had some fruit and a sandwich for lunch. Then we left to visit a woman who's a high school friend of my dad's who owns a bead shop. After that we went to this public park and hung out for a bit. It was really hot and there wasn't much shade but then we relaxed in a building. Now we're back at the Airbnb and I'm probably just gonna watch YouTube until dinner.

Dinner was great! We had Thai food, so I had chicken satay, shrimp dumplings and crab fried rice. Some of my favorite foods. But it was a little awkward for me sometimes because we had my dad's friend who I don't know over for dinner, and I have social anxiety so it was a little stressful. But it ended up being mostly fine except for one moment where she called me a good boy which was really uncomfortable. I don't like how some relatives treat because they only know me as the kid of my parents. Anyway, after that I went with my mom and sister on a walk through Tulsa University. Now I'm gonna chill and watch YouTube before bed.

Headed to bed now at 2am, the earliest I've gone to bed since the start of the trip. I've gotta get up at 10 though so it's not perfect, but I'll live.

Just got back from the Oklahoma City trip! We left at about 11:30am and got to an arts fair at 1:15 where we met up with an old friend form work of my dad, his wife and one of their kids who used to babysit me and my sister. We wandered the fair for a bit before having some food; I got a lobster crab cake and some chips with salsa. After having lunch we left to visit our old house. I didn't remember it very well, only bits and pieces, and some things were pretty different form what my parents remembered. We talked to our old neighbors for a few minutes, who I unfortunately didn't remember at all. Then we did some more sightseeing for a couple hours, mostly stuff that my parents and maybe sister would remember but I didn't. After all that we visited the Oklahoma City bombing memorial, which was really cool. Then we stopped by a grocery store to get some snacks for the car ride back - I got sushi. We're back now, and I'm gonna read a little more before going to bed.

Just got back from visiting the neighborhood where my deceased grandfather lived for some parts of his life. It was mainly for my dad and grandma to see the area for nostalgia, but it was really boring for me cuz I wouldn't recognize anything. Probably should have stayed back but I didn't realize we'd just be driving around the whole time. It wasn't a total waste though, I spent the time reading up on the news from Palestine on my phone. Gonna read my book for a bit now and then we'll leave for dinner.

Dinner was great, grandparents made black beans, sweet potato and broccoli. After dinner we played Codenames and The Game, which was fun. Then we said goodbye to them because we're headed back tomorrow, then left. As we were leaving my mom had a severe panic attack, and we had to help her for the next few hours. She almost ran into traffic at the start, it was really scary and sad. She's doing a lot better now and has gone to bed, but I'm still on edge. hopefully we'll all get enough sleep cuz we're flying back tomorrow.

Sorry for not updating for a couple days. I honestly just didn't feel like writing after getting back from the trip.
The day after my mom's panic attack, she was doing a lot better, just really tired. That was the day we returned from the trip; I finished reading Death's End on the two plane rides back, really liked it. I'm not gonna go over everything that's happened since then, it's been a pretty standard week. I'll try to start posting regular updates again now. Anyway, the day after coming back me and my sister had a check-in talk with my mom which was really helpful, and now we're all pretty much back to normal (post-divorce normal, that is).

Yes, she's on a lot of meds, mostly for anxiety and chronic headaches. She also sometimes takes a med that helps prevent the fight-or-flight instinct and she says that's helped a lot during recent stressful situations, but she hadn't taken it that day. So one of the things we agreed on is that she would always take some before a stressful day, and would also always keep some with her in case something comes up. Not that this one med will always prevent any problems, but it should help.

Just got back from the mutual aid project again. Also, I just watched the first season of The Office which was only 2 hours long. I've seen lots of funny clips o the show but never any full episodes, and it's pretty good, I'll probably keeping watching it at some point.

Mostly been watching YouTube since getting back, also made some spaghetti for myself.

We considered something like this, but it would be very difficult for her or someone else to administer medication during a panic attack. But I think she'll bo okay at this point. That night was supposedly the worst one she's had, and there were a lot of stressors that night which are gone now (cuz it was a family trip).

A few more boring days pass by. The highlight was early last morning watch Starship's fourth test flight. It was super cool to watch the booster successfully perform a soft splashdown and the starship rocket attempt the same. After taking a nap I did some yard work and I've just been watching YouTube since.
