I remember being taught to tie my shoelaces because I got really old ebfore learning how to do it (like 7 or 8 years old). My mum made a shoebox into a giant kind of mocked-up shoe so I could practise without having to be too exact. She showed me how to tie laces and then gave the box to me to do but I didn't quite grasp it right away, so soon she forbade me from moving and began beating me whenever I got it wrong to encourage me to get it right. It only took me about 8 hours and I've never had any issues tying my shoelaces since.You know, in fact, a lot of my early memories are of my mum beating me. Strange, that.

To be honest, I only remember being the current age I am. Lots of people don't believe me, and I'll admit I remember very few things at young ages, but specific memories and what not is a no go for me.

I remember the view out my front screen door, the layout of the rest of the house, and the town firehouse in my birthtown in NC. We left there when I was three, so I got a bitchin long-term memory.

I stood in three doorway looking out at my father. He was on a stretcher being wheeled over to an ambulance. That was he last time he was in our home before he died. That's the only real memory I have of him. Basically I got a late 2nd birthday present. Go me!

I remember a lot. Earliest from when I was about 2 or 3 years old. Most vivid would have to be throwing my cat off my deck when I was 3, I think.

I don't remember much, to be honest. Just a few things from when I was a kid. Like this one time, I got in trouble for supposedly doing something and I'd get hit on the face every time I said I didn't do it, and I had to pretend that I did do it just so I wouldn't get hit any more. Or once when I had to manually destroy my collection of comic books (over 1000) because I did something or other and was then shown a slug on the bin lid the day after and told that it was eating my comics right now and there was nothing I could do about it. Or the time when she asked me to pull the 'video' forward and I misunderstood her because 'video' is what I called the tapes but what she called the player so I pulled out the tape and gave it to her and she destroyed it, it being my prized VHS copy of Bean.
Wow, she was kind of abusive now I think about it.

Oh maybe the time when my dad, cousin, and I were on a road trip. We stopped at the gas station and my cousin wanted to get out. He decided to go through the window because the door wasn't working. He got stuck in the window and asked me for help. All I could do was laugh and pull the window a little bit higher. Then, my dad came and we both laughed and took pictures. My cousin was crying at that point. :{

I was two and I just got my kitten, I remember it terrorising me and how fucking huge the thing was (pretty much my size except with claws and anger at me pulling its tail). Now I see kittens and I always think of this picture perfect memory of a fucking massive kitten.
