Let's say for the sake of argument that Matt really does have a 100% West African ancestor in 1820. This sounds quite plausible. But he's not black. That's six generations back (by my reckoning). This would put Matt at (and again my math could be wrong on this) 3.125% West African (assuming no other African ancestors).
