I mean it's sort of trivially true that in a legal sense someone isn't a criminal until a court determines that they are guilty of a crime, but it's not wrong to think OJ is a murderer or Bill Cosby is a rapist, even if they haven't been formally convicted for those offenses.

Right. And simultaneously this man is strongly shown to have poor judgement and to violate social norms.
It’s not a huge surprise to me (that people struggle with this), but I really wish the public at large was able to hold multiple things as simultaneously true without thinking they must be mutually exclusive.
