see, this is what happens when you obsess over trump and flood the bumps page with conversation about him. you get world of warcraft character backstory threads.Errandgirl doesn't have a backstory, she's a bank alt so was used like a tool. Never planned to do anything with her other than run auctions, warehouse inventory items, and be a mail hub. she didn't get any kind of training in combat, has never once even been in a fight, and has for the vast majority of her existence resided within the safe city walls of Stormwind.
not always safe, i guess. she'd have been witness to many horde invasions attempting to kill the king, watched a giant dragon destroy half the city, and sometimes demon attacks. other than working with my rogue pretty early on that's about all i've thought about her. she basically rejected the draft at the very beginning and chose to not fight for the kingdom, but instead head to stormwind to try and become a successful entrepreneur and start a trading guild. i think since she was able to just walk away from the whole draft thing that maybe she comes from a pretty connected family.
if she comes from a wealthy merchant in Stormwind then that would explain her relatively low world experience and cushy existence. she's only left stormwind once, and that was to head to Elwyn Forrest right outside the city gates to turn down the draft. but she's wasn't wealthy at all back then, so maybe she's a bit of a black sheep. or maybe she's the 4th child with no businesses or much else to inherit. just a bit of envy for people with more luxurious lives.
and she might be a bit of a crook, which is why she'd fall in with a rogue. auctioning the loot of murdered people and mailing poison all over the world.
and she did embezzle some, she took a portion of my rogues savings and used it to fund other new characters to work for her. she also used a fair amount to personally enrich herself and her trading guild, by buying bank vaults, tuxedos and diamond tipped canes with expensive enchantments.
and interestingly she really is quite the taker. all my characters have been sending her their excess inventory to store in her multitude of bank vaults, and she holds onto that shit as tight as can be. most of my characters really haven't gotten any kind of return from sending her their loot. they'll get a few gold up front to make things a bit easier, and then end up sending hundreds or thousands of gold worth of materials and equipment.
and she'll sell that stuff off and just pocket the gold. none of my characters ever really need to worry about money, they'll always have repairs paid and whatever expenses they have are covered, but she keeps all the profits.
pretty crooked little operation she's running. it's no wonder it's only my low level characters that are still in her guild. they're naive. oh, and my stupid warrior, Garegarah, he's almost a level cap but he's stupid as fuck so it's no wonder.

@829,878 (B)sorry, i know this backstory was really short and light on details, but she is just a banker alt and i just haven't put all that much thought into it. hard to ponder backstory when you're playing the character in 1-3 minutes chunks periodically as you play other characters and need something mailed to them.

@829,902 (F)well, Garegarah has a mixed history and is one of my newer characters, but he doesn't really inspire much backstory. his history is mixed because i leveled him as a Horde Tauren during one of the last expansions. After Cataclysm the entire old world game was remastered and altered and got a graphics overhaul and all of the gameplay mechanics changed, many of the old missions were changed too because entire zones were altered, like the Barrens which was a huge savanna. it got sundered in half by a gaping chasm and was split into two different zones.
i leveled Garegarah because i wanted too see the changes to the old world, and i leveled him as horde because i hadn't done any horde characters before. I also wanted a tank, so he's a warrior and i put a big focus on threat generation for the sake of grouping up for dungeons. he was actually pretty bad ass at the time, the warrior mechanics i thought were pretty fun, but -at that time- warriors were the hardest tanking class. you had one ability that generated threat against a group, but a whole bunch of single target threat generators, so there was an insane amount of midfight target switching while trying to prioritize abilities and all of that required lots of mobility as you chase loose targets around. and you had a couple of leaps and a charge you could do so there was a bunch of leaping in and out of fights and charging around.
i got him up to about the same level as my other capped characters when the next expansion dropped and i ended up doing a faction change to bring him into my alliance trade guild. he's my oly blacksmith, and i thought he could benefit from the shared material pool. and made him a worgen to try and keep him close to his horde roots, but turns out i fucking hate worgen. the character animations are super wonky because of the long arms and legs and i constantly feel like he's out of position and it's annoying. and changing into a warewolf to attack shit is an annoying extra little animation that bugs me. so he fucking sucks now.
and they've changed warrior mechanics since then too, so i don't know how to play warrior anymore anyway. which sucks because he's my only tank. i kinda want to do another race change and make him anything else.
when he was a tauren i just enjoyed his success as a tank for groups and spent a lot of my time leveling in dungeons rather than questing. it's super quick and easy to queue for dungeons as a tank so i just spammed the queue and in between he went zone to zone doing mining for ore to level blacksmithing. that actually kept him in top tier gear the entire way up and he capped blacksmithing without any support from a rich alt.
so i guess he was just kinda touring around the old world after the cataclysm, for some reason, and then later fought his way from dungeon to dungeon as a hired tank. but then he somehow magically changed races, for some reason, and became a half-human half-beast warrior that no one likes because he's awkward and annoying.
i don't want to lean on the "family was killed and now the character wanders the earth" trope again, i already have 2 that are familyless loners, so it's got to be something else that drove him away from the warm environs of Mulgore. he's never been back there, as i think of it. so banishment. he was forced to leave home by the tribe for, idk, being responsible for the death of a friend. maybe when sparring with edged weapons or something irresponsible brash your warriors would do.
idk. he sucks now since he's not even tauren anyway. here's a pic of him in human form
