in British boarding schools, the new young students would be made servile to the older ones. They are also called faggots. Since boarding schools, as the Royal Navy, is notorious for buggery, the word usage is interesting.

Yeah, it's from the Latin fascis, meaning bundle. The only other English words that share that root are fascist and fascism. Those terms were borrowed into English from Italian at a later date, but if you want to be true to English you can refer to fascists as faggotists who practice faggotism.
