no...if I did say that I mispoke...that check was my net pay... for three eights at reg rate..and four hours of an orientation meeting that was at min wage..

More than like she is quitting gross pay...in can dollars also..

Oh I didn't realize. Google says 13.90 Canadian Dollars equals 11.15 US Dollars at the moment. But you have to add the value of your free healthcare (worth quite a bit), but also subtract that stuff costs more in Canada.

Why does stuff cost more?:

Bert's also in a low cost area. You have to take that into account too. $10.65 an hour in Knoxville might be equivalent to $20.65 an hour or more in a high cost area like NYC (in terms of having the same standard of living).

How much is food up there? Food here at Walmart is so cheap even the poor are morbidly obese.
