Dug myself a hole and used that along with the portals to force villagers inside of it. Then I go through the portal from the village back to the hole only to find that my game glitched out and it resulted in this somewhat amazing yet freaky shot of villagers starring at me in the void. Or how about whenever you're away from home on a business trip and you hate using public restrooms or even restrooms in your hotel room. You can plop a portal at your bathroom door at home and then one on the hotel door then you can always be using your own toilet.
In case you forget something, home is right outside that door. Of course, you might not want to ruin the sensation of being away from home so you could have a rule to never open the door and perhaps even keep it locked.

We could also solve our global warming problem by putting a small portal onto car exhaust pipes, with the other end going to Jupiter or something and just send all our CO2 to Jupiter and we can all drive our giant SUVs guilt-free.
