Yes yes and yes. It's really hard to do a lot in USAmerica without a driver's license and I grew up in the suburbs where you need to drive to get anywhere.

No I've never needed to learn how. @818,590 (A)
You need to pass a driving test showing basic competency to get a license. It's definitely "how".

The system here is different, you get a learner's license by answering questions. Then you learn to drive.

Oh here it varies state by state. In NJ you get a learner's permit after you pass a test and you have to drive under adult supervision. After a year you get a license that lets you drive without adult supervision and then when you turn 18 you get a real actual driver's license. Generally if you have a license you know how to drive and most people learn by age 18.

Drive stick, back a trailer past obstacles, to the tree you cut down with an axe, and take it to the log cabin you built, while growing a beard.

Oh that's really similar. We just don't have unlicensed kids learning to drive, they pass a written test about road rules first, then drive 6 months under supervision. Then pass a practical test which allows you to drive with no passengers during daylight hours for 18 months. Then pass another practical test to get a full license.

Oh yeah you have to pass a driving test here too to get your final license i think. Can't recall. I guess that makes sense. THanks.
