When you hear about a new podcast, do you start at the beginning of the podcast from episode 1 and listen all the way through... OR: do you listen to the latest episode first and then listen weekly, missing out on all the inside jokes?

Depends. If it's an ongoing story podcast i start at Episode 1. If it's a news/current events podcast I'll listen to the most recent one. If it's something else i try to find something recent-ish that strikes my interest.

The first episodes can be a little rough in terms of format, sound quality, organization, etc. I might listen to the latest episode of a new podcast before deciding whether to go back and start from the beginning rather than judging the series by the first few episodes. If it's something I'm really familiar with, then sometimes I'll work backward toward the beginning.
