I honestly like this show a lot and by the third episode I noticed that the jokes stopped by horribly corny. They started getting to be at a level of "good" Family Guy jokes and not the various shit Family Guy jokes. The more clever ones on that show. But the show is starting to embrace the more Star Trek nature of its creation which is a great thing.

see, i don't really like the orville. i think it's a missed opportunity to reinvent the genre to include hard comedy, but it's kinda just a crappy star trek clone with bad jokes, relationship drama, and toilet humor. are they really going to focus every episode around the dysfunction of a recently divorced couple? yes, yes they are. also it really feels like they are trying way too hard to look like star trek without spoofing things nearly enough. it oddly feels like for a comedy it takes itself too seriously. i was kinda hoping for a more unique IP, not one that just unapologetically borrows (re: thieve) every trope from star trek to just make more fart jokes. it's like he watched Galaxy Quest and decided to copy it but forgot to make it a spoof and instead tries to pretend to be the original but with jokes... Galaxy Quest was brilliant, but the orville is pretty disappointing imo.
