...and lathering each ingredient with a sickly-sweet, flavorless corn syrup sauce? Especially since real, good Chinese food is cooked on a stove-top with lots of delicious, fresh vegetables and relatively little meat.

Buy (by) no means expert. However I am well versed on the pig slop served up as food in horrid places like Kuntming China.
In this pic they do not hide the Rats served up as little meats.
