When Superman started he could only jump high. Shocking that later he learned to fly.
Hulk when Jolly can be all he needs to be. Alas he has yet to hook up with:

@OP
In the first few episode of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes", he initially appeared as Bruce Banner, but transformed into the Hulk after a run-in with the Absorbing Man. Once the Hulk was in control, he kept the Banner persona buried beneath an avalanche of rage until Hawkeye and the Black Widow tracked him down and asked for his help with some escaped Super-criminals.
Following this encounter, Hulk discovered that he actually enjoyed working with the Avengers ("smashing" came with the territory, and Captain America treated him with respect), so he made a telepathic deal with Banner that they'd share their consciousness - basically, Banner's formidable intellect would be combined with the Hulk's limitless strength. Although he was the Hulk most of the time, Bruce would emerge a few times a month to go fishing (yeah, really) or help Tony Stark on some particularly interesting project.
The same premise was employed in "Avengers Assemble", though the Hulk's intellect seems to fluctuate depending on how angry he happens to be. Now and then he (Hulk) astonishes Tony by casually analyzing complex technical data at a glance, but most of the time, he just sits around eating and watching TV. He often comes across as remote and short tempered, but the others have come to trust him, and tend to give him space when he wants to be left alone.
This is not inconsistent with the comics. In the earliest Avengers stories, he was more or less the Hulk twentyfour-seven, as he'd successfully hijacked Banner's position as the dominant personality. Within a few months, he'd become increasingly more violent, leading to a fallout with the rest of the group. After he quit the team, Bruce Banner began to reassert himself, finally gaining the upper hand after close on a year trapped inside the Hulk's body, though precisely how this occurred was never fully explained.
