Topic: What the fuck is this guy thinking?

Anonymous A started this discussion 15 years ago #6,608

I met this guy a couple weeks ago through some mutual "friends" (I'm not really friends with them, but we stop and say hi) and immediately he was super flirtatious. I added him on Facebook since he gave me his name, and whenever I went on chat and he was online he'd always say hey and ask about me/what I was doing/make plans - which is pretty uncommon especially considering I didn't really know him. He gave me his phone number and told me to text him whenever. I asked a mutual friend of ours about it, and he said that the guy in question is really nice and hits on everyone since thats just his friendly personality. Then we both were going to the same event, and he hit me up on Facebook asking if he could hang out with me there. We set up a day for it. While I was there, I had a fight with my friend, so I went off by myself to take a walk and I heard a guy yell my name - it was him. He invited me to drink with him and his friends pretty much immediately, after I noticed him checking me out. When he was with his friends, I felt a bit isolated, so I sat by myself and he came next to me and talked me up even though he had been busy.

Long story short, we end up at his friend's house with a lot of alcohol after having a lot of good conversation where we kinda connected. We start drinking, and we really hit it off; his friend felt left out since we were basically only paying attention to each other. The whole night we were making out and talking, telling each other everything about ourselves. He complimented me profusely, telling me that Im beautiful, a great kisser, super smart, and just generally a cool, interesting chick (his words). He told me things he'd never told anyone else. Then we fell asleep together at like 8 am, and when we woke up he told me that we really bonded and he wants to hang out with me. Guys always say this to girls after spending a night with them (we didn't go beyond kissing though) so I was skeptical until he actually did later that day. To make another long story short, we took shrooms together; they were really intense and we were both having horrible trips where i was paranoid as fuck, but he stuck with me and tried to make mine better even though he was tripping balls too. We ended up with some people we both know, and one of them was making fun of me and calling me ugly/disgusting and asking him why he was hanging out with me. He threatened to beat him up if the mean guy kept running his mouth, even though he's known him for much longer than he's known me, and it ended up that he stole his sunglasses just to get revenge on him for being so shitty to me. He really helped me out, and although I had to call my sister (who hates him) to get me out of the bad trip, he said he hoped I was going to be alright.

When I woke up this morning (we tripped last night) I realized that he's probably mad at me; I heard him talking to one of the guys about how I wouldn't have sex with him, but that was all I heard. But then he called me and asked if I was alright, before he even called his parents or anyone else. One of the guys who was with us told me that he knew I was having a hard time and that he just wanted me to have a good time and he felt bad for getting me to do shrooms (I wanted to do molly, but he wanted shrooms). He said on the phone he couldn't hang out with me today, but that he'll hit me up when he can to hang out - he's always hit me up when he said he would, so I feel like he will.

Basically, what the fuck? I've had all these crazy experiences with this guy in the past 2 days, and I feel pretty attached to him after that. I feel like I know him well even though we've really only known each other for a couple days and only met a couple weeks back. Obviously his actions show that he likes me, and I brought up to him that he's really nice to everyone; he said he's been going after me and that he's been especially nice to me since he thinks I'm beautiful and super interesting and all this stuff... Male insight? I know you guys probably don't care. :(

But the following text is even longer than the preceding part!

If I had given you all the details it would've been three times as long. That was as condensed as I could get it. Seriously, a lot of shit went down.

Yeah, he's probably thinking the same thing.

Just wait and see where it goes? Just let go and have fun with it?

For once I agree with you, if he is bitching to his friends about not getting the ride then all he wants is his hole.
He's buttering you up, can you not see that?

I would be wary of doing hallucinogens alone with a male that I did not know well. Also, you can judge someone by the friends they have and his friend sounds like a horrible person.

> you can judge someone by the friends they have

You can judge someone by the company they keep, which is a subtle but important difference to the friends they have.

> his friend sounds like a horrible person.

The only reference to one of his friends is

> Long story short, we end up at his friend's house with a lot of alcohol after having a lot of good conversation where we kinda connected

So your comment either makes no sense or you didn't read properly.

How does it not make sense? None of my friends would ever insult my date, because I would never associate with a person like that. Also, having a nice conversation with someone does not mean they are trustworthy.

So you're talking about the person who "was making fun of me and calling me ugly/disgusting and asking him why he was hanging out with me"? Read it again - it wasn't just one of his friends. All she says is that 'We ended up with some people we both know'. It doesn't even imply friendship.

> having a nice conversation with someone does not mean they are trustworthy.

When did I say it did? Stop making up arguments to refute.

She implies it was his friend when she said she ended up at his friends house.

So in which bit when they were at his friends house did someone start insulting her?

Also she states that, "even though he's known him for much longer than he's known me".

I've known a person for 7 years and we occasionally see each other and socialise when on a night out. Doesn't mean we're friends. (and even if he has known the guy for longer that doesn't somehow invalidate the fact that she also knows him)

So you think they went drinking at someone elses house, woke up at 8am and then stayed there until the next night, and they 'ended up' with the people they both knew in teh ktichen or something?

Get real, you just didn't read it properly.
