Topic: Did Meta's tupla take over finally?

Anonymous A started this discussion 9 years ago #66,076

I rarely ever see Pro-Trump Meta post anymore.

That's because Trump is doing so well

I thought MAGA Meta was the tulpa??

Part of it is the fight and the excitement of the election is over.

It's kind of like professional wrestling: you know it's all fake and they're not really fighting each other but sometimes it's fun to pretend and get caught up in the moment. It's no coincidence that Trump is a reality TV star and did professional wrestling. He's an entertainer. Anyone either afraid of or excited for Trump needs to read The Art of the Deal. He plays to people's fantasies. That was true in 1987, and it's true in 2017.

Now that the show's over we're settling down into 4-8 years of mediocrity. As I said 8 months ago:
So no one can say I changed my mind about Trump after they come true.

Predictions:

Trump will not build the wall (maybe one or two sections for photo ops but no Great Wall of China/Berlin Wall/Israel-Palestine wall type of thing)

Obamacare will receive several minor tweaks (like a cut in the medical device tax and insurance policies being allowed to sell across state lines) and be rebranded as Trumpcare but will be substantially the same.

11 million undocumented immigrants won't be deported: there will be some amnesty deal worked out.

Deportations will be no greater than the Obama administration average.

There won't be a Muslim ban or registry.

China doesn't go to war with America over the Taiwan-Trump phone call.

Gay marriage remains legal.

It's all just a show. It's no different really than getting excited about Game of Thrones or whatever.

The other part is, what is there left to say about the subject that we haven't discussed ad nauseum since 2015? Not much.

Things not covered by the above:

EPA undermined, gutted, and/or destroyed
Tax breaks for the rich
SCOTUS seat
Transgender military ban
Erosion of the Census neutrality and effectiveness
DoJ reversals (marijuana, sentencing, prison reform, and various ongoing labor disputes)
Uh
More?

Doubtless if a despot were to make a "registry" of some demographic Facebook, Twitter, et al would make it a lot easier than in the 1930s.

I didn't think of these 8 months ago. Can I retroactively predict them?
> EPA undermined, gutted, and/or destroyed
Nope
> Tax breaks for the rich
Probably
> SCOTUS seat
Don't most presidents get at least 1?
> Transgender military ban
Will be overturned
> Erosion of the Census neutrality and effectiveness
I don't understand the question
> DoJ reversals (marijuana, sentencing, prison reform, and various ongoing labor disputes)
Nope
> Uh
Um
> More?
Sure

To be clear: I wasn't expecting your predictions on them. I did want to know how you see these topics shaking out in the near future. Thanks!

There are early indicators the upcoming censuses may be politicized to tilt representation and funding in favor of conservative causes. Here's literally the first, lazy-ass link I could find: http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/immigration/324712-politicizing-census-puts-crucial-data-at-risk

What do you think about Mitch McConnell stealing a SCOTUS seat from Obama?

Meta replied with this 9 years ago, 2 hours later, 22 hours after the original post[^] [v] #814,235

@previous (D)
I think Harry Reid or Chuck Schumer would have done the same thing if the positions were reversed. It was quite a ballsy move because Hillary had like a 95% chance of winning at that point.

I don't see how this (asking about immigration status) would compromise the neutrality of the census or politicize it or increase funding for conservative causes.
