There would probably be no Confederacy which seceded long before they knew anything about what President Lincoln would have done. They should have just waited and see how he managed his administration. It would have been completely different, but because they just said, "fuck this" and left. Lincoln just went ahead with what he did. The Confederacy was a mistake for the Southern states and it cost them big time in the end.
