Repairing that much shit in a laptop is going to run some big bucks... You might be able to save some cash by just replacing it.
If you haven't been backing up your laptop and need to retrieve files from it, just plug in whatever is broken, a mouse, keyboard and possibly a screen if you can't see on yours.

depends? acer was quoting me $300 for the screen and i could live with either the screen or the keyboard/mouse, don't necessarily need both functionalities. gonna find out what local shops quote me. if i were to replace it i would want more than a piece of shit $300 netbook.
edit: the touchscreen functionality is what i mean. the display functionality is fine.

You should Google the problem for your model of laptop. You might be able to fix it yourself. Maybe a cable came loose. Kind of sounds like it.

I had to find instructions to open a fuckin thing, and I eventually ordered a bunch of tools from ifixit. There are tiny screws that may be looking like Philips but are really Japanese, and you could strip them bad if you used a Philips, but the reverse is not true so it's safer with a Japanese bit. Also if it is a shell with plastic tabs, you want a tool called a spudger and shits will crack and break anyway making you angry but it'll do the job.

I don't think it is. And I used to have a laptop with a 32 GB hard drive and absolutely fuck that noise. I couldn't even install the programs I need for school on the hard drive.

If you're handy with a screwdriver you can find parts on eBay dirt cheap and fix it for like nothing. I've done this for friends with broken keyboards, power jacks etc. The only problem is I always end up with like half a dozen screws left over because I like to fix things while drunk. I don't tell them though and they never notice.

I just typed in laptops for sale...and saw a bunch and that one was close to 300..
300 is a lot of dough...I realize that..
maybe if you look around campus there will be some braniac who is competent enough to fix it for you and you can be all sweet and flirty and get him/her to do it cheap by taking them out partying a time or two..
