I heard a reporter explain today that floods happen when the ground can't absorb any more water, which is a remarkable insight.

Another one said that the storm surge was expected to be three to five feet where he was, which he said "is as high as my knee, or higher."

Just saw a shot of a row of parked vehicles on CNN...there was like eight or ten inches of water beneath them..

the report said that if the water gets high enough that those cars will be underwater..
